Jamie Lovemark

Lovemark was born in Rancho Santa Fe, California, and attended Torrey Pines High School. He won the 2005 Western Amateur and therefore received a special exemption into the Cialis Western Open, where he finished T-54th. He also played on the 2007 Walker Cup Team and the 2008 USA Team at the World Amateur Team Championships. He was a two-time AJGA All-American in 2004 and 2005. In 2004, he captured both the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions and Western Junior in back-to-back weeks.
Lovemark attended the University of Southern California and was a two-time first-team All-America. He had three top-10 finishes and a scratch handicap. His sophomore season was his most successful as he won the NCAA individual title. He also won the Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson awards for individual medalist, the national player of the year and outstanding freshman as well as the Haskins Award.
Turned professional in the summer of 2009 and made five starts on the PGA Tour. Was T-46th at the RBC Canadian Open in his first start as a pro. In October at the Frys.com Open, posted weekend scores of 65-64 to finish at 18-under par and get into a three-man playoff with Rickie Fowler and Troy Matteson. Appeared headed for elimination on the first extra hole when his approach shot landed in the water before bouncing out and into the greenside rough. Got up and down for par to continue before losing to the eventual winner, Matteson.
2010 Notes: Made 22 starts in his rookie season and at age 22 became the youngest player in Web.com Tour history to win the money title. Won his first title, finished runner-up three times and was third twice en route to earning $452,951, the fourth-highest single-season money total in Tour history. Led the money list for a total of 11 weeks, including the final seven. Earned his first career title with a playoff victory over B.J. Staten at the Mexico Open Bicentenary in June.
2010 Web.com Summary: Tournaments entered - 22; rounds played - 75; in money - 16; top-10 finishes - 9; scoring average - 69.41 (ranked 5th); money - $452,951 (ranked 1st); Best finish, Winner, Mexico Open Bicentenary. He played at the Frys.com Open in California and after finishing, T-30th took a red-eye home to South Florida. He then drove to Jacksonville for the next to last Web.Com Tour event and he started experiencing pain in his back. Things got worse as from October to January he was in constant pain.
2011 Notes: Because of finishing first on the Web.Com Tour, got his PGA Tour card. He had lots of pain in his back and after nine events on the PGA Tour only made two cuts. At the Shell Houston Open the pain was so bad that he shot 80 in the opening round and could not bend over. Doctors told him that he needed to rest and he did for the next three months. After that, he went back to the doctor, still in pain and in an MRI, it was discovered that things got worse. He had surgery in August, followed by three months of rehab before playing at the Miccosukee Championship in October. He missed the cut in his two starts on the Web.Com Tour and when 2012 rolled around, he missed 10 cuts in his first 14 starts on the PGA Tour. He was able to finished T-7th in two Web.Com tour stops, but he just made six of 16 cuts on the PGA Tour and struggled on the Web.Com Tour.
2012 Web.com Summary: Tournaments entered - 12; rounds played - 40; in money - 8; top-10 finishes - 1; scoring average - 70.75 (ranked 59th); money - $63,758 (ranked 85th); Best finish, T-7th WNB Golf Classic & Miccosukee Championship.
2013 Notes: He worked hard in finding a solution to his swing problems and by the summer, things were looking up. At a Monday qualifier for the Greenbrier Classic, Lovemark shot 65 but lost a playoff and didn't get into the event. But he hit every fairway in that round. He finished T-7th at the Utah Championship, feeling great about his swing and he won the next week at the Midwest Classic. He finished the year 12th on the money list, which got him a spot on the PGA Tour for 2014.
2013 Web.com Summary: Tournaments entered - 21; rounds played - 64; in money - 11; top-10 finishes - 4; scoring average - 70.17 (ranked 27th); money - $178,421 (ranked 12th); Best finish, Winner Midwest Classic.
2014 Notes: In 20 starts, he made 13 cuts but only had one top-25, T-12th at the RBC Canadian Open. Finished 172nd in the FedEx Cup race and 168th on the money list. Played in the Web.Com Tour Finals but finished 59th in the priority ranking, nine spots away from saving his PGA Tour card.
2015 Notes: Finished the Web.com Tour season with 22 starts, two runners-up, seven top-10s, 13 top-25s and 18 cuts made. Finished the regular season playing the weekend in nine of his last 10 starts and 12th on the money list, which ensured his return to the PGA Tour for 2016. His runner-up finishes were at the Stonebrae Classic and Small Business Championship.
2016 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour events making 19 cuts and finishing in the top-ten, five times. Best finish came at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, finished T-2nd losing a playoff to Brian Stuard. Was 49th in the FedExCup standings and 48th in the money race. 2016 was his best career year on the PGA Tour, his $1,940,890 in earnings was the first time over the million dollar mark.
2017 Notes: Played in 28 PGA Tour events making 22 cuts with 4 top-ten finishes. Was T-6th at the RSM Classic, T-4th at the Sony Open in Hawaii and T-10th at the Memorial. Had his best finish of the year at The Greenbrier Classic, was T-3rd and with the good finish got a return trip to the Open Championship. He finished T-22nd at the Open Championship. Made it through the BMW Championship finishing T-33rd, was 57th in the final FedExCup rankings.
2018 Notes: Was T-5th at the CJ Cup@Nine Bridges, 4 shots back of the Thomas/Leishman playoff. Shot a final round 72 to finish 7th at the Honda Classic.
