Luke List

List was born in Seattle, Washington. He was runner-up in the 2004 U.S. Amateur, losing to Ryan Moore, 2 up. With his runner-up finish, he was extended an invitation to play in the 2005 Masters, in which he finished T-33rd and recorded an ace during the Par-3 Contest held on Wednesday. He also played in two U.S. Opens as an amateur, missing the cut in 2003 and 2005. He won the Jones Cup Invitational in 2005. He went to high school at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2007 and turned professional.
He struggled to qualify for the PGA Tour, forcing him to play on the eGolf Tour, Hooters Tour, and Gateway Tour. In 2009, he got all the way to the finals of PGA Tour Q-School and finished T-42nd, which got him a Korn Ferry Tour card. He also struggled his first two years on the Korn Ferry Tour, finishing 78th on the money list in 2010 and 38th in 2011.
2012 Korn Ferry Tour Summary: Tournaments Entered - 24; In Money - 16; Top-10 Finishes - 6; Scoring Average - 70.40 (Rank T-75th); Money - $363,206 (Rank 4th); Best Finish, Win, South Georgia Classic. 4th place on the money list got him his PGA Tour card for 2013.
2013 Notes: Had a tough rookie year, playing 24 PGA Tour events and making nine cuts. Only had two top-25 finishes, best was T-16th at the Wells Fargo Championship. Ended the year 163rd in the FedExCup race and 173rd on the money list. He went to the Korn Ferry Tour Finals, but he missed two cuts, and his best finish was T-48th at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, so for 2014, he had to return to the Korn Ferry Tour.

2015 Korn Ferry Tour Summary: Tournaments Entered - 24; In Money - 13; Top-10 Finishes - 3; Scoring Average - 70.35 (Rank T-68th); Money - $84,403 (Rank 64th); Finals Money - $39,887.50 (28th); Priority Rank (44th); Best Finish, T-4th, Cartagena de Indias. Was 44th in the final priority-ranking order getting his PGA Tour card back for 2016.
2016 Notes: In his second year on the PGA Tour, he played in 27 events, making 12 cuts. Was in the top ten twice, T-6th CareerBuilder Challenge and T-10th at the Honda Classic. Was able to hold onto his PGA Tour card for 2017 by finishing 122nd on the FedExCup list and 124th on the money list.
2017 Notes: He played in 31 PGA Tour events, making 20 cuts and three top-10 finishes. I held a share of the 54-hole lead at the Sanderson Farms Championship before a final-round, 2-under 70 resulted in a T-2nd finish, four back of winner Cody Gribble and his career-best finish. Two weeks later, I had another top-ten finish, T-7th at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. I shot 65-68 to finish T-3rd at the Houston Open, four back of winner Russell Henley.
2018 Notes: Played in 29 PGA Tour events, making 20 cuts with five top-10 finishes. Was T-5th at the CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges, lost a playoff to Justin Thomas at the Honda Classic, and T-7th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Finished T-3rd at the RBC Heritage, one shot back of getting into the playoff, T-9th at the Wells Fargo Championship. Finished T-3rd at the Aberdeen Standard Scottish Open. Advanced to the FedExCup Playoffs for the third consecutive season, 45th in the FedExCup final standings.
2019 Notes: Played in 22 PGA Tour events, making 11 cuts with four top-ten finishes. Was 92nd in the FedExCup standings. He was T-4th at the Safeway Open, played the final four holes in 4 under par, and was one shot out of the Tway/Moore/Snedeker playoff. Shot 63-65 over the weekend at the RSM Classic to finish T-4th, two shots back of the Howell III/Rodgers playoff. Was T-10th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Played in the second to last group on Sunday at the PGA Championship, shot a final-round 74, and finished 6th. After that missed his next six cuts and ended his year with a T-77th at the Northern Trust.
2020 Notes: He played in 22 PGA Tour events, making 12 cuts and one top-ten finish. He was 119th in the FedExCup standings. His best finish before the COVID-19 break was T-13th at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. His first start after the break was at the Korn Ferry Challenge at TPC Sawgrass, and he won it by a shot over Joseph Bramlett and Shad Tuten. He was T-10th at the Memorial. In the FedExCup playoffs, he missed the cut at the Northern Trust.
2021 Notes: Played in 31 PGA Tour events, making 15 cuts with five top-ten finishes. Was 102nd in the FedExCup standings. Was T-8th in the September Corales Puntacana, six shots back of winner Hudson Swafford. Shot a final-round 66 at the Farmers Insurance finishing T-10th. Was T-6th at the Wells Fargo Championship, five shots back of winner Rory McIlroy. Was T-4th at the John Deere Classic, three shots back of winner Lucas Glover. The next week was T-5th at the Barbasol Championship two shots back of the Power/Poston playoff. In the FedExCup Playoffs was 70th at the Northern Trust.
2022 Notes: He played in 28 PGA Tour events, making 15 cuts with three top-ten finishes. He was 52nd in the FedExCup standings and T-7th at the Zozo Championship. He won his first PGA Tour event at the Farmers Insurance Open, recording a final-round 66 and defeating Will Zalatoris in a playoff with a birdie on the first extra hole. He entered the final round trailing by five shots. In the FedExCup playoffs, he missed the cut at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and was T-61st at the BMW Championship.
2023 Notes: He played in 32 PGA Tour events, making 20 cuts with one top-ten finish. He was 119th in the FedExCup standings. In the fall won the Sanderson Farms Championship beating Scott Stallings, Ben Griffin, Henrik Norlander and Ludvig Aberg with a birdie on the first extra hole.
2024 Notes: Was T-2nd at the Genesis Invitational, three shots back of winner Hideki Matsuyama.
