Sean O'Hair

O?Hair turned professional prior to graduating from high school when he was 17. He and his wife Jaclyn were married at age 20, and they have four children. Jaclyn caddied for him on the mini-tours for two years. Had been to Q-School every year since 1999 before earning his card in 2004. Spent time on the Cleveland Pro Tour and the Gateway Tour.
Became a rookie on the 2005 PGA Tour after making it through all three stages of the 2004 Qualifying Tournament, including the final stage in his
first attempt.
Before 2005, he had not played on the PGA Tour, and in 18 career Web.com Tour events, made only four cuts. Best result was T-28th at the 2004 First Tee Arkansas Classic. But he adapted quickly to the PGA Tour, winning the John Deere Classic as a rookie in 2005. He competed on the 2009 Presidents Cup team.
2007 Notes: Had the most consistent season in 2007, with career highs in top-25s (14), top-10s (5) and nearly $2 million in earnings.
2008 Notes: In fourth year on tour, won for the second time and broke the $1 million mark for the fourth consecutive year.
2009 Notes: Won the third tournament of his career in 2009 en route to a career-best nine top-10 finishes and a fifth-place finish in the FedExCup and placed 6th on the money list.
2010 Notes: Experienced a big drop from his banner 2009 year, slipping to 41st on the money list and only three top-10s with no top-3s. Dropped off in greens hit and putting, his scoring average was three-quarters of a stroke higher in 2010.
2011 Notes: Picked up 4th PGA Tour win, which was his only top-10 finish of the year. It marked the first time he failed to record multiple top-10s in a PGA Tour season. Made only 13 of 24 cuts, but missed only one after he won the RBC Canadian Open.
2012 Notes: Finished 81st in the final FedExCup standings, the worst ranking of his seven-year career. Posted the third runner-up finish of his career, a T-2nd at the Sony Open in Hawaii, two shots behind champion Johnson Wagner. Posted all four rounds in the 60s to finish T-7th at the Greenbrier Classic. It was his first top-10 since the Sony Open in Hawaii, which was also the last tournament he posted all four rounds in the 60s. At 84th, finished inside the top-100 on the money list for the eighth consecutive season.
2013 Notes: Missed the FedExCup Playoffs for the first time since it began in 2007. Failed to record a top-10 finish for the first time in his tour career (best finish was T-16th, Pebble Beach). Had at least one top-10 each season since 2005. Finished outside of the top-125 on the money list for the first time since joining the Tour. Played all four Web.com Tour Finals events. Opened with a T-11th at the Hotel Fitness Championship, thanks in part, to a third-round 64 and a final-round 69 in Indiana. After missing the cut at the Chiquita Classic, he rebounded with a T-17th at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship, helped by an opening 66 at the Ohio State University GC's Scarlet Course. Secured his 2013-14 card by finishing T-8th at the Web.com Tour Championship on the strength of back-to-back 67s at TPC Sawgrass' Dye's Valley Course.
2014 Notes: Made the cut in 14 of 25 starts, with his lone top-10 finish coming at the Arnold Palmer Invitational (T-10th). His only other top-25 was a T-15th in October 2013 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Ended the season 160th in the FedExCup standings, marking the second-consecutive season he failed to advance. Missed the cut in the first two Web.com Tour Finals events in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Charlotte, N.C. Posted scores of 68-71-73-67 at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship to finish one shot out of the Justin Thomas-Richard Sterne playoff. His T-3rd was his best finish since a T-2nd at the Sony Open in Hawaii in January 2012. A $58,000 payday assured that he would return to the PGA Tour in 2014-15 via the Web.com Tour Finals for the second year in a row.
2015 Notes: Nearly won the Valspar Championship for a second time (won in 2008). His final-round, four-under 67 secured a spot in a playoff with Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth. After pars by the trio on the first two extra holes, Spieth won with a birdie 2 on the third extra hole. Added his second top-10 of the year with a 6th at the RBC Heritage Classic. His third was a T-4th at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Made 18 cuts in 26 events. Was 42nd in the FedExCup standings, his best finish since ranking 5th in 2009.
2016 Notes: T-10th at the Shell Houston Open. Entered the FedExCup Playoffs ranked 108th, the only player to advance to the Tour Championship ranked between 101 and 125 at the start of the playoffs. Was able to keep his playoff season alive with a final-round 66 to finish T-2nd, a shot behind winner Patrick Reed. After a T-17th result at the Tour Championship, he ended his year 27th in the FedExCup standings and 59th on the money list.
2017 Notes: In his second start of the season, finished T-10th at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Was T-9th at the CareerBuilder Challenge. After missing the cut at the Masters and Players Championship was T-5th at the AT&T Byron Nelson and T-2nd at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational, he was a shot back of winner Kevin Kisner. Was T-10th at the RBC Canadian Open.
