Zac Blair

Blair began playing the game of golf around the age of three and credits his father for introducing him to the sport. Blair is the son of Utah PGA Professional Jimmy Blair who played on the PGA Tour in 1984. Jimmy played at BYU from 1974-1977, was the 1981 Utah Open champion and has qualified for the U.S. Senior Open several times. Blair says his most memorable golf experience is qualifying for the U.S. Open. Has made six hole-in-ones and once carded a 60 at Logan Golf & Country Club, signifying his lowest career 18-hole score.
Had a very successful prep career where he was a four-time All-State and All-Region honoree at Fremont High School. He led his team to win the Region Championship three times and the State Tournament twice. Helped his team win the 2009 AJGA Cannon Cup. Placed first in match play at the 2009 Utah State Amateur while also winning the Cache Valley Amateur, Salt Lake City Open and tied for first at the Spanish Oaks Open. Blair was runner-up at the Provo Open and finished third at the Utah Open where he recorded the low amateur score.
Played college golf at BYU where he boasted a scoring average of 71.44 over 49 events played in his four-year career. Was named to the Division 1 PING All-Region West and All-MWC teams his sophomore year. Led the Mountain West Conference in stroke average (71.33) and recorded three top-10 finishes. As a junior was named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List and recorded four top-10 finishes, including three in a row. Named to the Ping All-America Third Team, All-West Coast Conference Golf Team, WCC Golfer of the Month (April) and to the WCC Commissioner's Bronze Honor Roll. Finished 2nd at the Arizona National Invitational after rounds of 65-69-71 en route to an 11-under par 205. In 2013 as a senior, won the Coral Canyon Amateur (-7), the 2013 Desert Shootout (-15) and the 2013 PING Cougar Classic (-14). Named WCC Men's Co-Player of the Year, All-WCC Men's Golf Team and WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with Bronze Honors.
When he's not golfing, Zac enjoys skiing, cooking, hanging out with his friends and loves building Legos. He graduated with a degree in Recreation Management.
2014 Notes: Despite starting the season with limited conditional status, ended up making 12 Web.com Tour starts, which led to two runner-up performances, six top-25s and eight cuts made. Began the year playing PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Entered seven events from March through May, making every cut but one and recorded 3 top-10 finishes, best being T-5th at the Dominican Republic Open. In early June, shot rounds of 69-68 at Emerald Valley GC in Creswell, Ore., to earn medalist honors at U.S. Open sectional qualifying. Defeated Clayton Rask by four shots to qualify for his first U.S. Open, a championship his father, Jimmy, played in 1981 (missed the cut). Finished T-40th, with his dad coming under the ropes and carrying his golf bag from his approach shot onto the green on the 72nd hole at Pinehurst No. 2. In early July played in his first of 12 Web.com Tour appearances. Carded 70-67 over final 36 holes of the Nova Scotia Open to move from T-31st when the day began to a T-7th, collecting his first Web.com Tour top-10 in the process. Was already in the next week's Utah Championship via a sponsor's exemption, but the T-7th allowed him entry into the tournament on his own. At his hometown event outside Salt Lake City, shot four-under-par rounds at Willow Creek CC to T-11th and earn another invite, this one into the next week's Albertsons Boise Open. Made the cut in Boise and his next two tournaments. Contended for his first title in his sixth Web.Com Tour start, at the Price Cutter Charity Championship. A final-round 66 resulted in a T-2nd finish, one behind Cameron Percy's 21-under-par winning effort. He improved to 41st on the money list. He closed the Regular Season with a T-14th at the WinCo Foods Portland Open to get to 38th in earnings and comfortably qualify for the Web.com Tour Finals. Missed the cut in the first three Finals events, but at the season-ending Web.com Tour Championship, he opened with a then course record-tying 63. He would go on to either lead or be in second place after all four rounds, with his finish a solo 2nd, following a Sunday 68 that left him one shy of winner Derek Fathauer. He went from $0 earned in the Finals to 11th in the Tour's priority ranking with his special and timely week which enabled him to play on the PGA Tour.
2015 Notes: Played in 24 PGA Tour events making 20 cuts. Had two top-10s, T-6th at the Sony Open in Hawaii and T-4th in The Barclays. Made the FedExCup playoffs, was 106th after Wyndham but with the good boost at the Barclays was able to play the Deutsche Bank (T-60th) and the BMW Championship (T-53rd) and finished 59th in the FedExCup race.
2016 Notes: Played in 31 PGA Tour events making 19 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Both of them came early, T-10th at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba and 3rd at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Since then his best finish was T-25th at the Valero Texas Open. Advanced to the FedExCup Playoffs for a second consecutive time finishing 110th.
2017 Notes: Played in 32 PGA Tour events with one top-ten finish. That came when he finished T-8th at the Shell Houston Open and shot a final round 67. Ended his season at 126th in the FedExCup standings, just one spot removed from making the FedExCup Playoffs. Instead, competed in all four of the Web.com Tour Finals with one top-25 (T-11th DAP Championship) in three cuts made. Ended the Web.com Tour Finals at 46 on the Finals money list.
2018 Notes: Played in 20 PGA Tour events making 11 cuts. Best finish was T-15th at the Barracuda Championship. Ended the year 170th in the FedExCup standings. Played in 7 Web.Com Tour events making 5 cuts. Best finish was T-33rd at the Albertsons Boise Open. Went to Web.com Tour Qualifying, was T-50th.
