Started playing golf at the age of 4. Credits her parents, who met on the golf course, as the individuals who influenced her career the most.
Won the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club, where she defeated Azahara Munoz in the final, 2 and 1. Also played on the 2008 USA Women's World Amateur Team. Runner-up to Maria Jose Uribe at 2007 U.S. Women's Amateur at Crooked Stick. Also qualified for Women's Amateur in 2005 and 2006. Member of 2008 USA Curtis Cup Team that won on the Old Course at St. Andrews. Also a member of the victorious 2006 USA Curtis Cup Team, the 2006 USA World Amateur Team and the 2007 USA Spirit International team.
First-ever three-time National Golf Coaches Association Player of the Year (2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08). National Freshman of the Year and Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year for the 2005-06 season. Three-time Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year. Helped lead Duke to the 2006 and 2007 NCAA Division I team titles. Won 2006, 2007 and 2008 ACC individual titles. Runner-up at the 2006 NCAA Division I Central Regional and the 2007 and 2008 NCAA East Regionals.
Shared low-amateur honors with Jane Park at the 2006 U.S. Women's Open, tying for 10th, and made the cut at the 2007 Women's Open. Qualified for match play in all four of her U.S. Girls' Junior appearances from 2001-04. Earned low-amateur honors at the 2008 LPGA Tour Kraft Nabisco Championship. Also made the cut at the 2006 LPGA Wegmans, finishing 17th. Earned the 2006 NCAA Academic All-America and received the Edith Cummings Award, which is given for the highest GPA among All-American selections. Won the Nancy Lopez Award, which recognizes the top amateur female golfer, in 2007 and 2008 to become the first two-time recipient in the award's history. Arizona golfer of the year in 2003 and 2004. Won 10 American Junior Golf Association events. Once played 18 holes of golf with legendary NBA star Michael Jordan.
In 2009, turned professional in June; earned medalist honors at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she earned Priority List Category 11 for the 2010 LPGA season; played in the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger, tied for fifth at the CVS/Pharmacy LPGA Challenge and tied for 40th at the CN Canadian Women's Open.
In 2010, recorded her first top-10 finish of the season with a T7th at the Tres Marias Championship; finished tied for ninth at the Sybase Match Play Championship.
In 2011, recorded her first top-ten of the season with a tie for 9th at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia; and tied for 12th at the Kia Classic.
Finished T5 at the Honda LPGA Thailand in 2012.
