Amy Fruhwirth

Fruhwirth started playing golf at the age of 10. She credits Ruth Jessen and Scott Watkins, Tim Suzor and Linda Vollstedt as the individuals most influencing her career. As an amateur, she won both the California State Championship and the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in 1991. She was a member of the 1992 Curtis Cup Team and won the U.S. Women's Public Links Championship that same year. Fruhwirth was the low amateur at the 1992 Nabisco Dinah Shore and later that year finished as runner-up at the Broadmoor Invitational. While at Arizona State, Fruhwirth earned All-America and All-Conference honors for three years.
She turned professional in 1993 and recorded her best finish at the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic with T12. In 1997, she partnered with PGA Tour player Clarence Rose to win the JCPenney Classic, an unofficial LPGA event. She recorded her one career victory in 1998 at the Friendly's Classic.
Fruhwirth gave birth to daughter Brooke on Aug. 20, 2005. She served as a member of the LPGA Tour Player Executive Committee in 2004. In recent years, she has played in several tournaments on the Legends Tour. At the 2017 Senior LPGA Championship she finished T35.

Fruhwirth will be playing in her first U.S. Senior Women's Open.
