Andrew Wilson

Wilson was a latecomer to golf. He was pretty good soccer (footballer) player as a kid but didn't play golf until he was 13. He was able to join Darlington Golf Club in their junior program and had ten friends from school also join with him. He got better but only played one year of junior golf before playing in amateur events. As he grew older he realized that there were so many more things to make a successful life and career than golf. He wasn't offered a golf scholarship in the United States and found how much he loved getting a bachelors and Masters degree in Business and Finance at Northumbria University. School has been his priority, while others play in events in May he is studying and getting ready for his exams.
He was a long term member of the England Golf men's squad winning the 2013 North of England Youths Championship, 2017 Lee Westwood Trophy along with being a member of the winning English team at the 2018 Men's Home Internationals. After getting five points out of six for his country as they won the 2018 Men's Home Internationals at Conwy, Wilson made the decision to turn professional. He missed out on a card at last winter's European Tour Q-School but has subsequently earned his playing privileges on the PGA EuroPro Tour and finished second in his first start to Todd Clements at the IFX Payments Championship at Brocket Hall.
