Becca Huffer

Qualified as the medalist at The Broadmoor (West Course) in Colorado Springs, Colo., with a 145 total.
Graduated from Notre Dame in May 2012 with a degree in industrial design. She was the winner of the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley's Rockne Student-Athlete Award in 2012. In her major, she won the prestigious Radwan and Allan Riley Prize for her design thesis. She was one of five team members that helped the Notre Dame women's golf team turn in three consecutive record-setting team grade-point averages over the last three semesters; the women's golf team combined for a 3.776 GPA in the spring of 2012. She closed her career with a 75.19 career scoring average, the lowest average for any Irish golfer to play over 100 career rounds. Was named the team captain her senior year. Brought home the only Irish medalist finish of the season at the Hoosier Fall Invitational in 2011. During her junior season, she collected four top-10 finishes. Was runner-up at the John Kirk/Panther Invite. Advanced to the round of 32 at the 2010 Women's Amateur Public Links, and made it to the round of 64 at the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur. During the 2008-2009 season, she was named the Big East Rookie of the Year. Became just the third Notre Dame women's golfer and the third women's golfer in the BIG EAST to be named all-BIG EAST in all four seasons of competition. Selected to the BIG EAST Academic All-Star team in four consecutive seasons. Named Colorado's 2008 high school Female Athlete of the Year by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame. In 2007, she was one of only seven women to qualify for the U.S. Girls' Junior, U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links and U.S. Women's Amateur Championships. Qualified for eight USGA Championships from 2003-07. She participated in Notre Dame's Dream Teams Program, working as a mentor to local elementary school children. Her mother Mary is a 1979 graduate of Notre Dame and was a member of the first Fighting Irish varsity tennis team. Her older brother, Christopher, also graduated of Notre Dame in 2009.
