Becky Iverson

Iverson was born in Escanaba, Mich. and started playing golf at the age of 8. She got her start because her father Ken gave up his job racing cars. When he retired, he took up golf and started playing with Iverson, who loved the game right from the start. She was 1986 Michigan Junior Amateur champion and 1987 Michigan Women's Amateur champion. She played her collegiate golf at Michigan State University where she was 1987 Academic All-American and 1987-88 Academic All-Big Ten.
Iverson turned pro in 1989 after she earned her LPGA Tour card on her third attempt. She played full-time on tour between 1994 and 2009 (played a limited schedule in 2003 for the birth of her daughter) when she had to retire due to a foot injury. She played in 329 LPGA events and made 182 cuts. She finished in the Top 10 21 times and won once at the 1995 Friendly's Classic. Her best year was in 2000 where she had seven top-ten finishes, including a runner-up at the Weetabix Women's British Open and T3 at the Australian Ladies Masters. She also earned a trip to the 2000 Solheim Cup team and had a 2-2 record. She won $319,959, which placed her 29th on the money list. For her career, Iverson earned $1,556,623.
When her playing career ended, Iverson wanted to use her accounting degree and golf knowledge so she took a job with the PGA Tour. Then in 2010, she took a teaching job at The Bridges Club in Madison Wis. She is currently the director of golf at The Bridges Club. Two or three times a year she will play on the Legends Tour to catch up with old friends or earn some extra money. However, most of her time is spent at home and with her 12-year-old daughter, Emma. Iverson finished T49 at the 2018 Senior LPGA Championship.

Iverson shot 77-81-77-79=314 (+22) to finish T44 in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open.
