Bobby Clampett

One of three former BYU players on the Champions Tour, joining Mike Reid and Rick Fehr. Launched the business, Impact Zone Golf (impactzonegolf.com), after such demand for instruction arose from his book, The Impact Zone, published in 2007. Is also active in golf course design...Has been an active pilot since 1987, having logged nearly 5,000 flight hours. Flies a 1986 Piper Malibu.
Last PGA Tour start, missed cut in 1998 Buick Challenge. Has played full-time from 1981 to 1995 with 395 career PGA Tour starts, won once at the 1982 Southern Open. He was runner-up six times, 11 top-3 finishes, 20 top-5 finishes, 33 top-10 finishes, 81 top-25 finishes. He has made 224 cuts, a 71.91 scoring average and in all his starts earned $1.4 million.
One of the top amateurs in history, winner of the 1978 and 1980 California State Amateur, the 1980 Sunnehanna Amateur and the 1978 Western Amateur. He was also the low amateur at 1978 U.S. Open and the winner of the 1978 World Amateur medal. Was a three-time, first-team All-America at Brigham Young University, from 1978-80 and a two-time winner of the Fred Haskins Award, presented to top collegiate player. Was the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 1978, 1979 and 1980 and was a two-time Western Athletic Conference individual champion.
2011 Notes: Played in 17 Champions Tour events and was among the top 25 three times. Turned in a nice performance in July at the Nature Valley First Tee Open when he finished T5th on the Monterey Peninsula. Playing in front of family and friends just a short distance from where he grew up, he was in contention for most of the final round before his bid for his first win in nearly 30 years was derailed by a pair of double bogeys at Pebble Beach GL.
2012 Notes: Played some of his best golf early in the season when he had four top-10 finishes in his first six starts on his way to a 39th-place finish on the money list, his highest standing in three years on the Champions Tour. Equaled his top career Champions Tour performance when, as a sponsor exemption, finished T-4 at the Insperity Championship in Houston.
2013 Notes: Played in 18 events, tied his best Champions tour finish with a T-4th at the Boeing Classic. Next week finished T-5th in the Shaw Charity Classic, went on to finish 52nd on the money list.
