Made it to match play of the 2013 Amateur Championship conducted by The R&A by shooting rounds of 72-70 at Royal Cinque's Ports and Prince's Courses in England. Defeated Denmark's Niklas Moeller, 3 and 2, in the first round before falling to Denmark's Kasper Estrup in 20 holes. Played in the 2012 Asia-Pacific Amateur and finished 7th. After a successful amateur career, he turned professional in 2013 and played for a couple of years in Australia, Asia, and Japan. But his best performance came in 2014 on the China Tour, where he had six top-10s in 12 starts including a win at the United Investment Real Estate Wuhan Open where he won with a birdie on the first playoff hole. Ended the season third on the China Tour Order of Merit to earn 2015 Web.com Tour membership.
