Carmen Alonso

Alonso played on the national team and in 2000, won the European Young Masters both individually and with Spain, as Rafael Cabrera-Bello won the boys' category. She won gold at the 2001 Mediterranean Games and finished 5th at the 2000 Espirito Santo Trophy together with Tania Elosegui and Marta Prieto. She was part of the Spanish team that won the European Lady Junior's Team Championship in 2002 and 2004 and the European Ladies' Team Championship in 2003.
Alonso played in the European Junior Solheim Cup team in 2002 and won the Junior Ryder Cup with the European team in 1999 and 2002. She won the 2000 French Ladies Amateur, and in 2001 she was runner-up at the Girls Amateur Championship and reached the semi-final of The Womens Amateur Championship.
Alonso turned professional in late 2004 after she finished T-30th at the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School. In 2006, she recorded her first top-10 finish, T-7th at both the Open de Espana Femenino and the Ladies English Open. In 2008, she was runner-up at the Ladies Italian Open.
In 2005, Alonso played on the Nedbank Women's Golf Tour in South Africa and recorded a T-3rd at the Telkom Women's Classic and 2nd at the Nedbank Women's Masters after she lost a playoff to Maria Beautell.
In 2009 she played in the 2009 Women's British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club and finished T-46th. Carmen's best finish was T-10th at the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open.
In 2010, her sixth season on the LET, her season-best finish was T-18th at the Finnair Masters.
In 2011, Carmen's best finish was T-12th at the DeutscheBank Ladies Swiss Open, followed by a T-16th at the Raiffeisenbank Prague Masters.
In 2012, Carmen played in 12 events with the season-best finish of T-34tg at the Tenerife Open de Espana Femenino.
In 2013, Carmen attended three LET events with a season-best finish of T-16th at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. She played in 13 Ladies European Tour Access series events and had four top-tens, her best was T-6th at the Kristianstad Ahus PGA Open.
In 2014, Carmen played in three LET events, and her best finish was T-51st in Slovakia. She played in 15 Ladies European Tour Access series events and had two top-tens. Her best was T-8th at the Solvesborg Ladies Open.
2015 Notes: Played in six LET events, made just one cut T-53rd at the Dubai Ladies Masters. On the Ladies European Tour Access series, played in four events, best finish T-5th at the Open Generali De Dinard.
2016 Notes: Played in 10 LET events, made three cuts best finish was T-49th at the Dubai Ladies Masters. On the Ladies European Tour Access series, played in four events and missed the cut in all four.
2017 Notes: Played in two LET events, was T-53rd at the ED Mediterranean Ladies Open and missed the cut at the Open de Espana. On the Ladies European Tour Access series, played in seven events, best finish T-13th at the Santander Golf Tour.
2018 Notes: Played in 13 LET events making seven cuts. Best finish T-16th at the Lalla Meryem Cup. In the Order of Merit, she was 45th and 71st on the money list with earnings of Euro17,634. She played in six LET Access Series and won her first professional title at the AXA Czech Ladies Challenge. She was 15th on the LETAS Order of Merit.
2019 Notes: Played in 17 LET events making 12 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Best was T-6th a the La Reserrva De Sotogrande. She was 36th on the Order of Merit and 42nd on the money list with earnings of euro41,373. Played in four LET Access Series events and was runner-up at the Santander Golf Tour, a shot back of winner Manon De Roey. She was 54th on the Order of Merit.
2020 Notes: Played in six LET events making four cuts, best finish T-66th at the Investec SA Women's Open. He was 151st in the Race to Costa-Del-Sol.
2021 Notes: Her best season on the LET, played in 21 events making 15 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 32nd in the Race to Costa-Del-Sol and 40th on the money list with earnings of euro59,147. Was T-4th at the Creekhouse Ladies Open, and in the Aramco Team Series- London team event, she formed the runner-up team together with Marianne Skarpnord and Frida Gustafsson Spang. Also, 7th at the Gant Ladies Open.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 LET events making 20 cuts with 3 top-ten finishes. She was 27th in the Race3 to Costa-Del-Sol and 37th on the money list with earnings of euro100,562. She was T-3rd at the Australian Women's Open, three shots back of winner Meghan MacLaren. T-5th at the Jabra Ladies Open, led after a first-round 66, then shot 73-72 to finish four shots back of winner Tiia Koivisto. T-8th at the KPMG Women's Irish Open. Ended the season T-27th at the Andalucia Open De Espana.
2023 Notes: Was T-3rd at the ATS-Singapore team event and T-4th a the ATS-Florida Team event. She was T-6th at the Amundi German Masters, six back of the Kristyna Napoleaova/Cara Gainer playoff. After 19 seasons and 250 LET events, won for the first time at the Ladies Open by Pickala in Finland. She shot a final round 68 and was a shot ahead of Johanna Gustavsson. She was T-9th at the La Sella Open.
