Chandler Eaton

Chandler Eaton started playing golf at age 12 and was most influenced by his father, Scott, who played college golf at Texas-Arlington. Chandler's mother, Kim, played college golf at Iowa State University.
As a junior golfer, Eaton won the 2014 Southern Junior Amateur. He competed at the 2016 U.S. Junior Amateur championship and the 2016 Rolex Tournament of Champions. He won the 2016 AJGA Wells Fargo Junior Classic presented by Callaway Golf, finished 6th at the 2016 Sea Pines Junior Heritage and won the 2015 SJGT Junior Championship with a final-round 68.
Eaton was named MVP of the Alpharetta High School golf team in each of his four seasons at the school and earned all-state honors as a freshman, junior and senior. He posted a 69.6 scoring average as a junior and a 70.1 average as a senior. He joined the Duke University men's golf team in the fall of 2016.
2016-17 (Fr.) Notes: A PING All-East Region selection, Chandler was named to the All-ACC and All-ACC Academic teams. He tied for the team lead in rounds played (39) and garnered the team's second-best scoring average with a 71.74. His best finish came in the Baton Rouge NCAA Regional where he placed T-3rd with an even 216 (74-69-73) and he finished T-4th with a two-under 211 (69-75-67) at the Inverness Intercollegiate.
2017-18 (So.) Notes: Named to PING All-East Team, Chandler averaged a 71.70 scoring average over 37 rounds, second best on the team. He notched a pair of top-5 finishes, including a share of the tournament title at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate (T-1st with teammate Adam Wood). He posted three top-20 finishes, a trio highlighted by a T-15 finish at the NCAA National Championship, giving him honorable mention All-America status. He finished 3rd after shooting a 207 (-9) at the Rod Myers Invitational, his lowest 54-hole score of the campaign. Missed the cut at the 2018 U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach.
2018-19 (Jr.) Notes: He had six top-10 finishes including one title at the Nike Collegiate Challenge. He finished T-9th at the ACC Championships, T-7th at the NCAA Athens Regional and T-15 at the NCAA Championships this May.
Eaton is competing in his fourth USGA championship and first U.S. Open.
