Chip Lutz

Chip Lutz currently plays on the AmateurGolf.Com Tour. Has played in just one tournament this year, finishing 7th at the George L. Coleman Senior Invitational Golf Tournament.
Named 2016 Global Golf Post Amateur of the Year. He earned his third British Senior Amateur Golf Championship title in 2016 with a playoff win over Brady Exber, birdieing the first extra hole with a 25-foot putt to seal victory. He also won the 2016 George C. Thomas Invitational Golf Tournament.
Used an anchored putting stroke for many years and had to readjust in 2016 when Rule 14-1b, banning the anchored stroke, was put into effect. Had little trepidation in returning to a standard-length putter. He was the only amateur to make the cut in the 2016 U.S. Senior Open. He made finished T-37th and garnered low-amateur honors.
Lutz won the 2015 U.S. Senior Amateur at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. He defeated Tom Brandes, 5 and 3, in the championship match. En route to the title, Lutz defeated two-time U.S. Mid-Amateur champion Tim Jackson in the semifinals and 2011 Mid-Amateur champion Randal Lewis in the quarterfinals. Lutz had some close calls at the U.S. Senior Amateur before finally breaking through in 2015. He reached the semifinals in 2010, 2011 and 2013, and reached match play two other times. In his career, he is 18-5 in match play in the championship.
Named the Golf Association of Philadelphia Senior Player of the Year six consecutive years from 2010 to 2015, and was inducted into the National Senior Amateur Hall of Fame and Pennsylvania State Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. He is the only player to win the Philadelphia Junior (1972), Philadelphia Amateur (1977), Philadelphia Middle-Amateur (1998, 2007) and Philadelphia Senior Amateur (2014) to cement his place as one of the greatest amateur golfers in Pennsylvania?s history.
Lutz and his wife, Bonnie, have a son, Jordan, and daughter, Jenna.
Away from golf, Lutz is the president of Sentry Abstract Company, a title company located in Wyomissing, Pa.
Lutz has had success outside of the United States as well. He won the Senior Amateur, conducted by The R&A, in 2011 and 2012, and the Canadian Senior Amateur in the same years, becoming the second player to ever win the U.S. Senior Amateur, British Senior Amateur and the Canadian Senior Amateur in their career. Paul Simson is the other.
Played in the Senior Open, conducted by The R&A, earning the silver medal as low amateur three times (T-35th in 2012, T-48th in 2013 & T-46th in 2014).
