Christel Boeljon

Boeljen started playing golf at the age of 7. One day she joined her parents for a visit to the Golfclub Spaarnwoude, and two years later she gave up field hockey and concentrated on golf. She enjoys all sports, especially field hockey and tennis. Interests also include listening to music and reading. She studied Spanish for two and a half years at Purdue University as well as a semester of Sociology, but left the university after three years to pursue golf as a career.
In 2010, tied for 14th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she earned Priority Category 11 for the 2011 LPGA Season; competed on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
In 2011, recorded career-best ties for ninth at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia and the Mizuno Classic; competed on her first European Solheim Cup Team with a 1-2-0 record; finished second in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race behind Hee Kyung Seo; won the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open on the LET. Made history as the first European Solheim Cup team member from the Netherlands in the 22-year history of the event.
In 2012 played in 20 events, 10 cuts made, $89,817 (81st on the money list). She had two top-25 finishes, best finish T23 at Wegmans LPGA and Manulife Financial LPGA. Also played six LET events. She recorded two more victories, at the Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters and the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, where she successfully defended the title. She finished the season ranked 14th on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit, with earnings of ?104,884
2013 Notes: Again split her time between the LPGA and Ladies European Tour. On the LPGA, she played 20 events, making 14 cuts and finished 67 on the money list. Had one top-10, T7 at Reignwood LPGA Classic. Played in seven events on the Ladies European Tour. Her best finish was fifth at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. She finished 53rd on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit.
2014 Notes: She was 84th on the money list with $120,064 and 83rd in CME points. She made 11 cuts in 20 starts with a best of T-7th in the season-opening Pure Silk Bahamas.
In 2015 has played 3 times on the Ladies European Tour, was 73rd at the Handa Women's Australian Open, missed the cut at the New Zealand Women's Open and won the Deloitte Ladies Open. Two weeks before that win she finished 2nd at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.
