Player Notes:

Began playing golf at the extremely young age of around one and a half years old and credits his family and uncle for introducing him to the sport. Says that his most memorable golf experiences are when he made his first hole-in-one at Fox Hollow Golf Club back in 2000 and qualifying for the U.S. Open.
Playing as an amateur in 2007, Clayton shot 69-72 which earned him runner-up in the U.S. Amateur Public Links stroke play event and advanced to the round of 32 in the match play event. In the Western Amateur, rounds of 72-71-68-67 earned him an 11th place finish in the stroke play event and he also advanced to the round of 16 in the match play portion.
Played collegiately at the University of Minnesota where he was a four-time letter winner for the Golden Gophers. In his senior year, averaged rounds of 72.94 which was good for 16th best single-season scoring average in school history. Won two events that year and was named an All-American and First-Team All Big-Ten. Had back-to-back rounds of 66-65 at the Windon Memorial which marked the fifth and fourth lowest 18-hole scores in school history, respectively.
Since turning pro in 2008, has been playing professionally on the NGA, Canadian and Web.com Tours. Advanced to stage II of PGA Tour Q-School in 2012. Won the Killearn Classic (-13) in 2013 which at the time catapulted him atop the NGA money list. Most recently played in the PC Financial in Vancouver and tied for 32nd after finishing at 7-under par.

Goes by the nickname 'Chevy.' When he's not golfing, Clayton likes spending time with his family and fiancé, Gina, and also enjoys working on cars and going fishing and hunting. Has a younger sister and brother, Vanessa and Morgan. Graduated from Minnesota with a degree in Communications. Says one of his superstitions is that he always marks his ball with an animal.
