Craig Kanada

Returns to PGA Tour for first time since 2001 after finishing 11th on the 2006 Nationwide Tour money list. Does not have a top-10 finish in 58 previous Tour starts. Member of the PGA TOUR in 1997 and 2001 and the Nationwide Tour in 1994-96, 1998-2000, 2002 and 2006. Two time winner on 2006 Nationwide Tour. Making his 212th Nationwide Tour start, broke through for his first professional victory at the Utah EnergySolutions Championship. Came back from a three-stroke deficit to Bryce Molder after 54 holes to defeat Molder and three others by one shot. Playing just 50 miles from his home in The Woodlands, TX, posted the best final round in Nationwide Tour Championship history with a 6-under 66 to storm back from six shots down to defeat third-round leader Matt Kuchar and Andrew Buckle by one shot. Sealed the win with chip-ins for par on No. 17 and for birdie on the final hole. The six-shot comeback was the largest in Nationwide Tour Championship history, and the $135,000 check propelled him from No. 32 to No. 11 on the money list. His jump of 21 spots to earn a PGA Tour card is second only to David Branshaw's climb of 22 spots in 2005. Earlier in year, lost in a four-man playoff at the Yes! Golf BCR Classic on the Canadian Tour in early March. From 2003-05, made a combined one of 10 cuts on the PGA TOUR (0-2) and Nationwide Tour (1-8). In 2002, finished out of the top 100 (No. 182) for the first time in his seven years on the Nationwide Tour. Lone top-25 finish on the 2001 PGA Tour was a T20 at the Touchstone Energy Tucson Open, his first event of the year. Earned his 2001 PGA Tour card by virtue of a T27 finish at the 2000 PGA TOUR National Qualifying Tournament. Had five runner-up finishes in his first six years on the Nationwide Tour. Finished in the top 50 on their money list in all six seasons, including No. 20 in 1999 and 2000. Made just five of 23 cuts in rookie PGA Tour season in 1997. Earned first PGA TOUR card via a 25th-place finish at the 1996 Qualifying Tournament. Winner of the 1990 Western Amateur and 1991 Pacific Northwest Amateur.
