Craig Steinberg

Began playing the game of golf around the age of 10 years old and says his most memorable golf experience was winning his fourth SCGA title by finishing one shot ahead of Jason Gore. Also mentioned having his son caddie and his daughter watching all four rounds of the 2008 U.S. Senior Open. Has a fiancé, Pamela, and two kids: Ryan and Morgan. Graduated from USC with a degree in Biology and currently is a practicing optometrist while also practicing law full-time. Says much of his work relates to representing optometrists in a variety of legal matters. Attended and graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, School of Optometry and the University of La Verne, College of Law.
Enjoyed a very successful collegiate golf career at USC that was highlighted by winning the 1980 Pac-10 Individual Conference Championship. He was named first-team All-Pac 10 and a second-team All-American that year. Has competed in over 20 USGA Championships, including 11 Mid-Amateurs and 10 U.S. Amateurs. He is a four-time winner of the Southern California Golf Association Championship and a two-time winner of the SCGA Mid-Amateur as well.
Recently, Craig won the North Ranch CC Club Championship after a three day total of 221. He also came away victorious from the SCGA Senior Tournament of Club Champions after firing a 70. T-10th at the California State Amateur at San Gabriel CC and in 2008, he was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
