The 2021 University of Alabama graduate will be making his U.S. Open and professional debut at Torrey Pines after shooting 11-under 133 to earn medalist honors in the Atlanta, Ga., final qualifier conducted at the Piedmont Driving Club. The Knoxville, Tenn., native was one of three Alabama golfers to qualify on June 7, joining Robby Shelton and Wilson Furr. Prior to attending Alabama, Shore was a member of the 2016 USA Junior Ryder Cup Team. That same year he was named an American Junior Golf Association First-Team All-American. He also advanced to the Round of 32 of the 2016 U.S. Junior Amateur at The Honors Course, losing in 23 holes to Eugene Hong.
Since he was a senior in High School developed lower back pain, which got worst when he went to Alabama. Decided to just play through the pain, he did this his whole freshman year. But in the summer after his freshman year, his hip started to bother him also. He took some time off and tried yoga, stretching, light workouts. Nothing worked. He was finally talked into taking an MRI and the news wasn't good. He had a pretty bad hip impingement, as well as a torn labrum. Certainly not what he was hoping to hear. At that point, it wasnâ??t a matter of if I needed surgery but when. He endured the pain for 8 months and had surgery on April 5th, 2019. The surgery was a success and he didn't touch a club for four months. In his fifth month was able to practice and worked to regain his old form.
