Garrett Phillips

Shot 151 and tied for medalist honors at the Colorado Springs, Colo., sectional to qualify for her first U.S. Women's Open. Qualified at the Broadmoor Golf Club's East Course, the same venue for the 2011 U.S. Women's Open.
Has played mostly the Ladies European Tour in 2011 after gaining her card through qualifying school in 2010. Played on the Duramed Future's Tour from 2009-10. Best finish was a tie for third at the 2009 Historic Brownsville Open in Rancho Viejo, Texas.
Won three collegiate events while at Augusta State University and had eight top-10 finishes. Competed in three U.S. Women's Amateurs in 2004, 2007 and 2008. Had seven top-10 finishes at the University of Georgia after transferring from Augusta State. Named second-team All-SEC in 2007 and 2008. NGCA All-American Honorable Mention in 2008. Finished third individually at the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf Championship. Voted NCAA All-Independent Co-Player of the Year in her freshman season at Augusta State. Won the 2006 Georgia State Golf Association Greater Atlanta Women's Amateur Championship and was runner-up at the 2006 Harder Hall Invitational.
Grew up playing soccer, softball and basketball but switched to golf before high school hoping to receive a scholarship to pay for her college education. Studied marketing at the University of Georgia. Enjoys cycling, gardening and listening to music, especially classic rock.
