Hayden Shieh

Shieh attended Mission San Jose high school in Fremont, Calif and was a runner-up in 2011 San Leandro High School Spring Classic Golf Tournament.
At Santa Clara University, he was a four-time qualifier for the NCAA Championships (2014-15 through 2017-18) and had 22 top-10 finishes, including three victories, in 47 career starts. Hayden had 70 career rounds under par, including a career-best 62 in 2015-16. He had a career scoring average of 70.77 and was four-time first-team All-West Coast Conference selection. He was a two-time Division I PING All-West Region selection.
2014-15 (Fr.) Notes: He capped off an outstanding season by being named the WCC Freshman of the Year and by qualifying for the NCAA Championships Regional. Selected as first-team All-WCC and led the team in almost every statistical category, including scoring average (70.64), top-20 finishes (7) and sub-par rounds (14). He won his first collegiate event at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational and was 8-under for the event.
2015-16 (So.) Notes: Had an exceptional year while competing in all 10 events and qualified for the NCAA Championships regional in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a first-team All-WCC selection and named to the All-WCC Academic team. He led the team with a 70.87 scoring average and also with 20 even par or better rounds Hayden claimed his second collegiate win at the Cabo Del Sol Intercollegiate, recording seven birdies in final-round play to edge out teammate Tyler Kertson for the win.2016-17 (Jr.) Notes: NCAA Championships qualifier after posting a career-best scoring average of 70.70 and completed in 11 events with seven top 10 showings, including finishing among the top three in his final three events before the NCAAs. He fell in a playoff during the WCC Championships, finishing runner-up, and was a first-team All-WCC selection. Hayden was named to the Division I PING All-West Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and earned a spot on the All-WCC Academic team and was a CoSIDA Academic All-America nominee. He had an extremely strong spring, shooting under par in 17 of his 21 rounds and increased his GolfStat.com ranking from roughly No. 450 at the end of the fall to 88th at end of the regular season.
2017-18 (Sr.) Notes: Played in all 12 events and accumulated a 70.44 scoring average, first on the team and 26th in the nation. Shieh had nine top 20s, including six top 10 finishes and was a first-team All-WCC selection and first-team WCC-All-Academic team. He was named to the Division I PING All-West Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). He finished first at The Jackrabbit with a 15-under 201 (64-67-70) and placed 4th in the Alister MacKenzie Invitational. Shieh finished T-9th at the WCC Championships and competed in the NCAA Raleigh Regional where he finished T-32nd.
He is competing this year on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada. Shieh will make his first U.S. Open start after surviving local qualifying in Pleasanton, Calif., and then shooting 11-under 132 in the Newport Beach, Calif., sectional conducted at Big Canyon Country Club and Newport Beach C.C.
