Ian Doig

Ian Doig first learned to play golf on his family-owned golf course. He competed in his first tournament at the age of 10 and learned more about the sport through being a caddie for professional golfers. In 1984 Doig became the first PGA Tour caddie to play in a PGA Tour event, the 1984 Buick Open. Throughout Doig's professional career he has competed on the Canadian and Asian tours with various starts on the PGA Tour. Throughout his career, Doig has over 25 professional victories. In 2008 he founded the Ian Doig Golf Academy in Richmond Hill, Ontario where his main focus is growing the game of golf while keeping sportsmanship and character at the center of the game. Won the 2012 Bacardi World Par 3 Championship in Bermuda. Clenched a victory at the 2013 PGA of Ontario Senior Tour Championship. Doig is a back-to-back champion of the PGA of Ontario Senior Championship (2015-16). Most recently won the 2017 Black Wolf Match Play Championship.
This will be Doig's first USGA event.
