Jack Allara II

Qualified for the 2012 U.S. Senior Open at The Homestead's Cascades Course in Hot Springs, Ark., by shooting a 72 during the 18-hole qualifier. This is his first U.S. Senior Open.
Started playing tournament golf at the age of 35. Has played in the 2008, 2004, 2003 and 1993 U.S. Mid-Amateur. Was a two-time qualifier medalist for the U.S. Mid-Am. Played in the British Mid-Amateur in 2005. Played in the 2004 Southern Amateur, and was the oldest person in the field to make the cut and advance to match play. A quarterfinalist in the 2003 U.S. Mid-Am. Virginia State Amateur quarterfinalist in 1997. 1990 victory at the two-man Virginia State Golf Association champion with partner, Charlie Turner. Is a nine-time club champion and two-time senior club champion at Roanoke Valley G.C. Was a two-time Roanoke Valley Player of the Year and Roanoke Valley Senior Player of the Year. A three-time Pocahontas Senior champion and three-time Pikestown champion. His most memorable golf moments are making a 20-foot putt on the 36th hole to advance in a playoff at the 1990 two-man victory, and also shooting 1-under-par on the Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn. His wife is Marla. He has five children; John, Jeff, Jason (deceased), Lucas and Emily. He is a dentist.
