Jerry Courville

Started playing golf around age 7 and credits his father for introducing him to the sport. Says his most memorable golf experience was winning the 1995 U.S. Mid-Amateur with his ailing father in attendance. He holds the USGA record for most match play wins in U.S. Mid-Amateur history and consecutive years qualifying for match play in the U.S. Amateur.
In addition to winning the 1995 championship, he was the 1996 medalist, 1999 and 2002 finalist, and 1993 and 1997 semifinalist at the U.S. Mid-Amateur. At the U.S. Amateur, he was the 1989 semifinalist, 1995 medalist, and 2000 and 2003 quarter-finalist. Played in the Masters in 1996.
Took a brief break from the game, but wanted to pass his passion for the game to others by instructing them. To do so, he teamed with Jo Rasmussen of FitnessWorks to provide an indoor training and practice site for his clients. In 2007, he started playing in tournaments again and has tried to qualify for the Champions Tour since that time. He made the finals of Qualifying school in both 2008 and 2009.
Courville's best finish in five U.S. Senior Open starts is T-28th in 2009 at Crooked Stick Golf Club. He competed in the 1995 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills G.C. in Southampton, N.Y., and was a semifinalist in the 1989 U.S. Amateur. He was also a member of the 1995 and 1997 USA Walker Cup Teams. He missed the cut at the 2014 U.S. Senior Open after shooting 76-78.
