Jessica Korda

Started playing golf at age eight. Credits her parents as the people who influenced her career the most. Her father, Petr, played on the Association of Tennis Professionals Tour and won the 1998 Australian Open.
Jessica enjoyed a stellar amateur career, including a runner-up finish in the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur at Charlotte (N.C.) Country Club, where she fell to future major champion Danielle Kang in the 36-hole final, 2 and 1.
A member of the winning 2010 USA Curtis Cup Team. Helped the USA win the 2010 Copa de las Americas in Argentina and partnered with Jennifer Song to win the women's team competition.
As an amateur, her final-round 69 at the 2008 U.S. Women's Open at Interlachen Country Club was the only sub-70 score on the day. Advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur. Advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2009 U.S. Girls' Junior. Won the AJGA's Scott Robertson Memorial in 2010 and was runner-up in 2009. Also finished runner-up at the 2009 Rolex Girls Junior Championship. Won the AJGA's 2008 Betsy Rawls. A two-time junior champion in the Czech Republic. Represented the Czech Republic in the 2006 Women's World Amateur Team Championship. Youngest player to make a cut on the Ladies European Tour at age 13, during the opening round of the 2006 OTP Bank Ladies Central European Open.
In 2010, turned professional in December. Finished runner-up at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she earned Priority List Category 11 for the 2011 LPGA season.
In 2011, best finish was a T-19th at the Avnet LPGA Classic.
2012 Notes: Played in 20 events making 16 cuts. She earned $339,320, which ranked 41st on the money list. She had two top-10 finishes, earning her first LPGA Tour win in at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open, where she became the fourth-youngest winner of a 72-hole LPGA Tour event.
2013 Notes: Played in 21 events and made all 21 cuts. She had six top-10 finishes, including a season-best T-2nd at the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic. Won $594,389, which ranked 25th on the money list. Competed as a rookie on the 2013 U.S. Solheim Cup Team and posted a 1-2-1 record.
2014 Notes: She was a career-best 16th on the money list with $817,885 and 20th in CME points. She made 19 cuts in 24 starts and had six top-10s with two victories. She won the season-opening Pure Silk Bahamas Classic, making a six-foot birdie putt on the last hole to beat Stacy Lewis by one shot for her second LPGA victory. She got her second win of the year and first in the U.S. at the Airbus LPGA Classic in Mobile, Ala. Korda shot a final-round 65 to finish at 20-under 268 and beat Anna Nordqvist by one shot. Korda cited work on her short game with Paul Azinger at home in Bradenton as a key to her victory. She was T-3rd at the Blue Bay LPGA. Tied for the lead after 36 holes of the 54-hole rain-shortened event, Korda shot 72 Sunday to finish five back of winner Lee-Anne Pace.
2015 Notes: Played in 24 events making 16 cuts, she finished 27th on the money list and 23rd in CME Points. Korda was T-2nd at the season-opening COATES Golf Championship, finishing one shot back of winner Na Yeon Choi. Korda won the LPGA season's first event in 2012 and 2014. She won for the first time in 2015 at the LPGA Malaysia in October, shooting 65-65 on the weekend to finish at 18-under 266, four strokes better than Lydia Ko, Shanshan Feng, and Stacy Lewis. Korda credited the victory with a trip to the Czech Republic to visit her grandparents and recharge for the Asian swing after a tough domestic season where she hadn't had a top-10 finish since the season-opening event.
2016 Notes: Played in 23 LPGA events making 19 cuts and finishing in the top 10 five times. Best finish was 2nd at the Blue Bay LPGA Championship, she was a shot back of winner Minjee Lee. Was T-3rd at the Honda Thailand, 7 back of Lexi Thompson. She was T-3rd at the Volvik Championship, 6 back of winner Ariya Jutanugarn. Was 24th on the money list with $692,803 and 25th in CME points.
2017 Notes: Played in 21 events and made 19 cuts with 4 top-10s. She finished T-2nd at the CME Group Tour Championship and 3rd at the VOA Texas Shootout, two out of the playoff won by Haru Nomura. Also, T-3rd at the Blue Bay LPGA. She was 26th on the money list, but injuries hurt her year. She was sidelined by an injury to her left forearm that forced Korda to withdraw from the Ricoh Women's British Open after one round. The injury also forced her to skip the Solheim Cup, which she had been named to the U.S. team. She had a three-hour surgery on her jaw on Dec. 7, 2017, to correct a severe overbite and to alleviate severe headaches and a facial cramp that caused vision problems in her right eye.
2018 Notes: Played in 18 LPGA Tour events making 16 cuts with six top-ten finishes. She was curtailed at the start of the year, recovering from jaw surgery to correct an overbite. She returned to form quickly as she won in her first tournament back at the Honda LPGA Thailand. Korda beat Lexi Thompson and Moriya Jutanugarn by 4 shots. She was T-4th at the ANA Inspiration, a shot out of the playoff won by Pernilla Lindberg. Korda was T-3rd at the LPGA Mediheal Championship, 4 back of the playoff won by Lydia Ko. Was T-4th at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship 3 shots back of the Park/Hataoka/Ryu playoff. Won $883,924, which ranked 18th and 19th in the Race to CME.
2019 Notes: Played in 18 LPGA Tour events making 15 cuts with six top-ten finishes. Was 22nd on the money list with $874,588 in earnings. Was 27th on the CME points list. She missed the Australian and Asian part of the tour due to a sore left forearm that had bothered her for a couple of years. In her first start at the Bank of Hope Founder Cup shot a final round 64 to finish T-2nd, a shot back of winner Jin Young Ko. Was T-6th at the ANA Inspiration, 6 shots back of winner Jin Young Ko. Was T-10th at the U.S. Women's Open and T-10th at the CP Women's Open. Best finish of the year came at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, she had the lead after 54 holes but shot 72 in the final round to finish 2nd, a shot back of Danielle Kang. Ended the season with a T-6th at the CME Group Tour Championship, five shots back of winner Sei Young Kim. Was a member of the U.S. Solheim Cup team and had a 3-0-1 record. Teamed with her sister Nelly to become the first sisters on the U.S. team and joined Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam as the second set of sisters to play in the same Solheim Cup. Jessica and Nelly played together in the Friday and Saturday foursomes and became the first sisters paired together in a match. They won their Friday foursomes session 6 & 5 over Caroline Masson & Jodi Ewart Shadoff, and the Korda sisters won their Saturday foursomes session again 6 & 5 over Carlota Ciganda & Bronte Law. Jessica won her singles match against Caroline Masson 3 & 2.
2020 Notes: Played in 13 LPGA Tour events making 11 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Was 46th on the money list with $874,588 in earnings, and she finished 47th on the CME points list. Was T-8th at the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio and T-6th at the Pelican Womens Championship, shooting a final round 64.
2021 Notes: Played in 17 LPGA Tour events, making the cut in all of them with five top-ten finishes and one victory. Was 23rd on the money list with $774,047 in earnings and 13th on the CME points list. Won the season-opening Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions. Made a 25-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Danielle Kang. In the third round, Jessica shot a career-low 60. When sister Nelly won the next LPGA event, the Gainbridge LPGA, they became the second sisters to win consecutive events on the LPGA tour, joining Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam, who accomplished the feat in March of 2000. Was T-8th at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Golden Ocala. Jessica led going into the final round of the HUGEL-AIR PREMIA L.A. Open but finished 2nd, one shot back of Brooke Henderson, who shot 67 to win. Was 3rd at the Pure Silk Championship, three shots back of winner Wei-Ling Hsu. Was a member of the U.S. Tokyo Olympics women's team and finished T-15th. Sister Nelly also was a U.S. Women's team member and won the gold medal, finishing 1st. She played in her 3rd Solheim Cup (she was replaced due to injury in 2017). She was 1-2-0 in the Matches, including a Saturday foursomes loss while paired with sister Nelly. She beat Charley Hull in the singles, 2 & 1. She got married to long-time boyfriend John DelPrete in December.
2022 Notes: Finished second at the Chevron Championship, two shots behind winner Jennifer Kupcho. In consecutive starts in the summer, she finished T-5th at the Meijer LPGA Classic, T-10th at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, and T-8th at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational with her sister Nelly as a partner.
