Jing Yan

Jing Yan started playing golf at age 4. Credits her father as the most influential person in her career, because he worked for many years as a golf commentator at ESPN. He influenced her to take up golf and enabled her to meet many of the players who inspired her, including Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam. She also goes by the name Jennifer Yan.
In 2013, won the Girls' British Open Amateur Championship and the Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play. Made five starts on the LPGA Tour as an amateur from 2012 to 2014 and did not miss a cut, finishing T-20th at the 2014 Evian Championship. Won the silver medal in women's golf in the 2010 Asian Games as a 14-year-old. Attended high school in Singapore and went to the University of Washington in the fall of 2014, winning her second college tournament. After the fall semester, finished T-34th at LPGA Q-School and turned pro.
2015 Notes: In her rookie season, made 7 of 14 cuts and finished 112th on the money list. Best finish was a T-11th at the Kingsmill Championship.
2016 Notes: Played in 26 LPGA events, making 16 cuts. Had two top-5 finishes, a 5th at the ShopRite LPGA Classic and a T-4th at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Finished 72nd on the money list with $237,033 and 77th in CME points. Member of Team China in the UL International Crown, posting a 2-1-0 record.
2017 Notes: Played in 23 LPGA events, making 12 cuts. Posted a career-best finish at the McKayson New Zealand Women's Open when she took second place. Her next best finish was T-21st at the U.S. Women's Open. Was 66th on the money list with $261,402.
2018 Notes: Played in 21 LPGA events making 7 cuts. Best finish T-40th at the Blue Bay LPGA. Missed the cut at the U.S. Women's Open during a stretch of 14 missed cuts in a row before finishing T-65th at the Cambia Portland Classic. Finished 150th on the money list with $18,529. Finished T-23rd at the inaugural LPGA Q-Series to earn Priority List Category 14 status for the 2019 season.
2019 Notes: Has three top-15 finishes through her first six LPGA events, including T-12th at the ANA Inspiration and T-13th at the KIA Classic.
