John Lobb

Lobb is making his second USGA championship appearance, qualifying for the 2005 U.S. Amateur at Merion, but he did not make the cut for match play. Lobb attended the Naval Academy, where he played four seasons as a wide receiver on the football team. He played on the same team as Heisman Trophy finalist Napoleon McCallum. Following graduation, he was selected as an assistant coach of the team, and didn?t pick up golf until he was 28. While on active duty, Commander Lobb played on the All Navy and All Armed Forces Teams as well as represented all the Armed Forces in international play. He retired from the US Navy after 26 years of service. He is a former Jacksonville Area Match Play Champion and currently is the Jacksonville Area Senior Champion.
