Will make his major championship debut after finishing second to New Zealander Daniel Hillier in the 36-hole Final Qualifying at Hollinwell, where he is the attached professional.
First picked up a club at the age of five at Rotherham Golf Club where he practiced alongside a promising group of youngsters that included future Masters Tournament winner Danny Willett. Was diagnosed with Leukemia aged seven, but was still able to work on his golf game after having to give up impact sports.
After recovering from the illness aged 12 he now stands at six foot nine and a half inches tall and will become the tallest player in European Tour history in 2018 after coming through all three stages of Qualifying School in 2017.
In 2018 he played in 21 European Tour events making 12 cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 147th in the Race to Dubai making euro179,622, his best finish was T-2nd at the Made in Denmark. After regulation was tied with Steve Brown, Lee Westwood, and Matt Wallace. Thomason bogey the first playoff hole to be eliminated with Matt Wallace winning the playoff.
In 2019 played a combination of European Tour (7) and Challenge Tour (14) events. His only top-ten was a 3rd in the Challenge Tour Open de Bretagne.
In 2020 played in a combination of ten European Tour and Challenge Tour events, only top-10 was T-7th at the Open de Portugal at Royal Obidos.
