Kelli Bowers

Began playing at age 6 and credits her father with introducing her to the game. Had many successes as a junior golfer, most notably winning the 1A Washington State Championship four times, from 2007 to 2010. She cites the 2010 victory as her most memorable golf experience, because she struggled in the first round but had more than 20 family members there supporting her and was able to pull through for the win.
Also competed in the 2009 Junior Americas Cup and finished T7th, was also named MVP of the Washington State team. Finished T53rd at the 2009 Junior World Golf Championship, after winning medalist honors at the Washington Junior Golf World Qualifier. From 2002 to 2009, she notched 12 Washington Junior Golf Association wins, and from 2002 to 2007 she had five top-5 finishes in this organization.
Began collegiate career at Washington in 2010, immediately making an impact on the team finishing T7th at the WSU Invitational in her inaugural event. Had three other top-25 finishes in her freshman season, including runner-up at the Gonzaga Spring Invitational, T17th at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational, and T21st at the PAC-10/SEC Challenge. In her first NCAA Championship she finished T26th.
Played in all 12 events in her sophomore year, with six top-25 finishes: T11th at the Juli Inkster Invitational, T12th at the Edean Ihlandfeldt Invitational, T14th at the WSU Cougar Cup, T16th at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, T19th at the Battle of Rancho Bernardo, and T24th at the Peg Barnard Invitational. Was sidelined for the majority of her junior season with a back injury and competed in only three events, but recorded a T6th at the Oregon State Invitational and a T25th at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational.
Recovered from her back injury quickly, and also qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links, which took place just one week prior to this year's U.S. Women's Open. Finished T101st with a 14-over 158 and did not advance to match play.
One of seven children, has a close-knit family that was tested when sister Tori had a heart attack and extensive recovery period. Kelli says her sister is a huge source of inspiration for her and makes her appreciate everything she is able to accomplish on and off the golf course everyday. When she's not playing golf she likes to spend time with her family and play other sports, especially basketball.
