Kristy McPherson

Started playing golf at age 8 and credits her parents as the individuals most influencing her career.
Qualified for the Tour on her fourth attempt with her fourth-place finish on the 2006 Duramed Futures Tour season-ending money list.
Participated on her high school boys' golf team. At the University of South Carolina, recorded seven victories, including two individual Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championship titles in 2001-02. Was a three-time First-Team All-SEC and NCAA All-American selection from 2001-03. In 2002, was named the NCAA Honda Inspirational Athlete of the Year and NCAA South Carolina Woman of the Year. In 2003, earned SEC Player of the Year honors and went on to turn professional.
In 2004, competed in 18 events on the Duramed Futures Tour.
In 2005, recorded five top-10 finishes on the Duramed Futures Tour.
In 2006, won her first professional tournament by one stroke at the Jalapeno Futures Golf Classic after carding back-to-back birdies on her final two holes. Also won the Betty Puskar Futures Golf Classic and posted four additional top-10 finishes. Placed fourth on the Duramed Futures Tour season-ending money list to earn exempt status for the 2007 LPGA season. From 2003-06, never missed a cut on the Duramed Futures Tour (60 events).
In 2007, best finish was a tie for 18th at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger. Recorded her first LPGA career hole-in-one during the first round of the Sybase Classic presented by ShopRite.
In 2008, recorded six top-10 finishes, including a season-best T4 at the P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship, where she carded a career-low 64 in the first round. Also carded a 64 in the third round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, where she tied for seventh. Recorded three additional top-10 finishes: a tie for fifth at the Longs Drugs Challenge, a tie for seventh at the LPGA State Farm Classic and a seventh-place finish at the Corona Championship.
In 2009, recorded career-best T2 finishes at the Kraft Nabisco Championship and Wegmans LPGA. Qualified as one of three rookies on the 2009 U.S. Solheim Cup Team, finishing with a 1-3-0 record for the victorious squad. She tied for third at the LPGA Tour Championship, tied for fifth at the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola and finished solo seventh at the Ricoh Women's British Open. Crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings with a T34 at the U.S. Women's Open.
In 2010, recorded a season-best runner-up finish at the CN Canadian Women's Open. She tied for fifth at the P&G NW Arkansas Championship and tied for eighth at the LPGA Hana Bank Championship.
In 2011, best finish was T18 at the Kia Classic. She tied for 24th at the Safeway Classic, and tied for 29th at the Honda LPGA Thailand and the CN Canadian Women's Open.
2012 Notes: Played 23 events, making 12 cuts and earning $88,674 (82nd on the money list). Had a season-best T24 finish at the ISPS Handa Australian Women?s Open. Plagued by left elbow problems throughout the season and underwent surgery in November.
2013 Notes: Played in 19 events and made 11 cuts, finishing 83rd on the Tour money list. Recorded a season-best T15 finish at the Wegmans LPGA Championship and crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings at the same event.
In 2014, her best finish thus far has been T18 at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, where she finished the tournament at 10-under par.
When she's not playing golf, Kristy's hobbies include all sports, doing anything competitive and hanging out with friends and family. She is a self-described sports nut and would love to be on ESPN's First Take to argue with Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. Was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis as a child. Serves on the board of directors of the Arthritis National Research Foundation. Would have loved to see baseball greats like Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth play in their prime. Graduated from South Carolina in 2003 with a degree in Sports and Entertainment Management.
