Leonie Harm

Leonie Harm was born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany. She picked up the game from her family's passion for golf at an early age. Her competitive nature made her establish herself among the best golfers of her nation in her age class. The continuous support of her home Golf Club St. Leon-Rot, gave her the resources and opportunities to be on track to become one of the best junior golfers in Europe.
Throughout her career, Harm competed on German National and Junior National Teams. She has represented Germany in multiple European Girls and Ladies Team Championships and represented Europe in the 2015 Junior Solheim Cup at her home course. She won the German Girls Championship at St. Leon-Rot, opening that tournament with a 65 and finished with a 66. Finished 7th at the European Nations Cup. Placed 5th at the DGV-Deutsche Meisterschaften der Madchen AK at Hetzenhof after opening with a 68. Won the DGV Deutsche Meisterschaften AK Offten at Hardenberg Golf Resort. Finished 4th at the 2014 German International Amateur Championship with 72s in the final two rounds. She enjoyed eight top-20 finishes in 2014.
In May 2013, a 15-year-old Harm left her house in the morning to go jogging. She was hit by a drunk driver going 40 mph, leaving her in a coma with a broken hip, broken ankle, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and head injuries, including permanent hearing loss in her right ear. Paramedics on the scene said that she had a one percent chance of survival, and Leonie admitted to herself that "I was pretty much dead." She returned to the golf course just six weeks after her accident. Less than one year later, her mother, who drove Leonie 65 miles each way four to five times a week from their home to practice at St. Leon Rot Golf Club, was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away in 2016. Her hero in life is her older brother, Steffen.
She started her college career at the University of Houston in January 2016. During her seven competitive semesters in NCAA sports, she set multiple program records and claimed four more individual tournament titles, all while obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemical and Biophysical Sciences.
In the summer of 2018, she successfully reclaimed the German International Ladies' Amateur title just two weeks prior to the biggest win of her amateur career, the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship. The world's oldest women's golf tournament with 115 played was won by a German for the first time. This exceptional win helped establish her amongst the top women's amateur golfers in the world with a World Amateur Golf Ranking as high as fourth, which is the best ranking to be held by any German amateur golfer so far, male or female. She won the 2018 German Women's Amateur.
In April 2019, she competed in the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur, missing the cut. She also got to test the waters of being a professional golfer through her major debut in the 2018 Ricoh Women's British Open and the 2019 U.S. Women's Open. Further, she represented Team International at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup and Team Continent of Europe at the 2019 Vagliano Trophy, which both ended in a dominating win by her side.
She turned pro in 2020 and with limited status on the LET played in 8 events making 8 cuts. Best finish was T-17th at the Women's NSW Open. Finished the year in 49th spot on the Race to Costa del Sol and 7th in the prestigious Rookie of the Year standings.
2021 Notes: Played in 15 events to finish 22nd on the Race to Costa del Sol and ninth on the LET money list, with five top-tens. Started her LET season with a 2nd place finish at the Investec SA Women's Open. She was a shot back of winner Lee-Anne Pace. She was 3rd at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, 2 shots back of winner Atthaya Thitikul. Was 7th in the AIG Women's Open. She played in the Scandinavian Mixed event on the European men's tour and finished T-42nd.
2022 Notes: Was 3rd at the Jabra Ladies Open. Finished 2nd at the Amundi German Masters, shooting 69-68 on the weekend to finish one back of winner Maja Stark.
