Lisa Grimes

Grimes grew up playing in the junior golf program at Alexandria Golf Club in Minnesota. At Alexandria High School, she won two state team titles and was the State Girls' High School individual champion her senior year, posting a score that was unsurpassed for 26 years.
After high school, Grimes enrolled at the University of Minnesota and played both golf and hockey but after one year decided that the cold was too much and transferred to Arizona State University where she finished her college career. In her senior year, ASU was the top ranked team in the nation and Grimes won three individuals titles. In addition to her accomplishments at ASU during this period, Grimes won the 1980 Minnesota Women's Match Play and in 1982 the Minnesota Women's State Amateur.
Grimes turned pro right after leaving ASU. She played part time on the LPGA Tour and competed in 16 major championships. Her best finish, and one of her career highlights, was a T12 finish in the 1994 U.S. Women's Open. She also won five tournaments on the Futures Tour.
Grimes won the Minnesota Women's State Open four times (2004, 2006, 2012, 2014). In 2018, she won the Women's Stroke Play Championship by three strokes over now-PGA of America President Suzy Whaley. She competes on the Legends Tour, finished 2nd in the 2018 Suquamish Clearwater Legends Cup and T14 in the 2018 Senior LPGA Championship. She currently serves as the director of instruction at Alexandria Golf Club in Minn.

Grimes shot 74-81-76-74=305 (+13) to finish T23 in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women's Open.
