Mathilda Cappeliez

Started playing the game of golf around age 7 and credits her father for influencing her to try the sport.
Even though she's 16 years old and still in high school, Cappeliez has played a lot of golf and played it successfully. She has competed in AJGA events, French Junior events and even on the Ladies European Tour. She won the Coupde de France Dames in 2012 along with being runner-up at the 2012 Irish U18 Open Stroke Play. In 2013, was the runner-up at The Spirit International Amateur Championships. She won the 2013 French Ladies International Championships. So far in 2014, her best finish has been a runner-up at a tournament called Golfers, where she carded a 69-75.
She hopes to qualify for the Junior Ryder Cup at Gleneagles this year and will also try for the PING Junior Solheim Cup next year at St. Leon-Rot in Germany.
When she's not playing golf, Mathilda likes to play tennis, go to the gym and hang out with friends and party. Says that something interesting about herself would be she has red hair and is very frugal. Has one younger sister, Raphaelle. Her father will be caddying for her in the U.S. Women's Open.
Says that her most memorable golf experience is when she was playing in Sweden with Team France at the European Girls Team Championship and she won the last match in a playoff to give her country the championship over England. Said it was an incredible, moving moment for her.
