Mike Grob

Started playing golf at age 8 when his dad introduced him to the game. Grob enjoyed many years on the golf course with his parents and two brothers. Grob's biggest inspiration growing up was Tom Watson. Says Grob of Watson, "He continues to be incredibly inspiring to this day, and I still enjoy every chance I get to see him play."
Grob attended the University of Arkansas, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in business. He was in a car crash in 1985 and had injuries that led to a right hip replacement in January 2000.
He won the Montana Amateur in 1983, 1984 and 1985 before turning professional in 1988. Grob is a member of the Montana State Golf Association Hall of Fame. He enjoys listening to classic rock and is a big fan of the Oakland Athletics as well as the Miami Dolphins. He also enjoys fly fishing and being on the Montana River every chance he gets.
Grob owns 10 professional wins, six of which he earned on the Canadian Tour. He spent 1999 to 2001 on the Web.com Tour and played on the Canadian Tour in 2002, before earning his PGA Tour card for 2003 after a tie for 34th at Qualifying School. He collected two top-10 finishes and made 14 of 27 cuts to finish 150th on the 2003 money list, which gave him conditional status for the 2004 PGA Tour season. Grob made five of 13 cuts and failed to retain his card for 2005.
Grob returned to the Canadian Tour in 2005, and over the next eight years, he won five times. He is the all-time money leader on the Canadian Tour.
Birdied two of his last four holes to secure the fifth position and, final exempt spot, at the 2015 PGA Tour Champions Q-School. Bumped out John Riegger by a shot when he got up and down for birdie from underneath a tree left of the 17th green then made a routine par at the final hole.
2016 Notes: Played in 16 events on the Champions Tour, had two top-25 finishes, T-17th at the 3M Championship and T-23rd at the Boeing Classic. Finished 83rd in both the money list and Schwab rankings forced him back to Q-School and didn't regain his card finishing T-31st.
