Noah Goodwin

Goodwin, the 2017 U.S. Junior Amateur champion, picked up the game of golf at the age of six and was added to a very special list of players in 2017.
His victory at the Junior Am earned him an exemption, the first year the USGA offered that place in the U.S. Open field.
He was named the AJGA Rolex Junior Boys Player of the Year in 2017 for the second consecutive year. Goodwin joined the ranks of Tracy Phillips, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Wood and Brian Harman as the only players to earn the honor in back-to-back years.
He received the award after capturing the title at the 2017 U.S. Amateur Championships and at the CB&I - Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods. He also finished sixth at the 2017 PING Invitational. In 2016, Goodwin secured first place at the Bishops Gate Golf Academy Junior, while also finishing runner-up at the PING Invitational and the Thunderbird International Junior.
He represented the United States at the 2017 Junior Presidents Cup and the 2016 Junior Ryder Cup.
Goodwin, who earned a first-degree black belt in taekwondo at age 7, signed with Southern Methodist University in November 2017 and just completed his first spring season on the as a member of the men's golf team. In his first season, Goodwin competed in four tournaments with three top-25 finishes. He earned a season-best T-5th at the Southwestern Invitational. Goodwin finished T-24th at the American Athletic Conference Championships to help the Mustangs to a runner-up finish.
He is currently ranked 38th in the Men's World Amateur Golf Ranking.
In total, he has competed in six USGA Championships, finishing runner-up to Min Woo Lee at the 2016 U.S. Junior Amateur. He played in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 U.S. Amateurs and made match play in 2015 and 2016, losing the Round of 64 in those years.
Goodwin made his first PGA Tour appearance at the 2018 Byron Nelson after receiving the Byron Nelson exemption.
