Rafael Gomez

Gomez was born in Buenos Aires. He turned professional in 1990. He played on the European Challenge Tour in 2003 and from 2005 to 2007 and the European Tour from 2005 to 2007. He played on the U.S.-based Korn Ferry Tour in 2004 and a few events on the PGA Tour. His best finish on the PGA Tour was 38th place in The International in 2002. His best finish on the European Tour was 22nd place in the KLM Open in 2006.
Gomez won the TPG Tour Order of Merit in 2007 and the Tour de las Americas Order of Merit in 2001/02 and 2004. He was second in Los Encinos Open in 2002, Mexican Open in 2006, and the Colombian Open in 2008. Gomez and Angel Cabrera have the most tournament wins on the Tour de las Americas with eight victories.
2018 Notes: Played in 17 European Legends events with five top-ten finishes. Gomez won the 2018 European Senior Tour qualifying school. Played in 17 European Legends events with five top-ten finishes. Was 18th on the Order of Merit with earnings of euro136,020. He finished T-8th in his first start Sharjah Senior, T-7th at the Shipco Masters, and 2nd at the Senior Italian Open where he lost a playoff to Clark Dennis. Was T-3rd a the Scottish Senior Open, 4 back of winner Gary Orr. Was T-3rd at the Costa Blanca Benidorm Senior Golf Masters.
2019 Notes: Played in 18 European Legends Tour events with two top-ten finishes. Was 21st on the Order of Merit with earnings of euro84,546. He was T-7th at the Swiss Seniors Open and T-10th at the Austrian Senior Open.
2021 Notes: Played in 11 European Legends Tour events with three top-ten finishes. Was 15th on the Order of Merit with earnings of euro48,680. He was 2nd at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters, two shots back of winner Markus Brier. He was T-7th at the Legends French Open.
2022 Notes: Was T-24th at the Riegler & Partner Legends.
