Rick Todd

Rick Todd was born in Toronto, Canada and played his collegiate golf at the University of Texas El Paso. While at UTEP, Todd was a three-time All-American and a four-time First Team All-WAC selection. After leaving UTEP, Todd continued working in the golf industry and compiled 12 years of experience as a professional golfer and has played in international events on six continents.
Todd played on the Web.Com Tour full time in 1991, '92 & '93. He won twice 1991 El Paso Open, 1992 Dakota Dunes and finished T-2nd at the 1992 Knoxville Open. Played a total of 82 Web.Com Tour events making 43 cuts and finishing 10 times in the top-ten. He earned $134,521 in earnings and his best year was 1992 when he won $70,934 and finished 13th on the money list.
Todd returned to UTEP in 1999 to coach the men's golf team, where he led the Miners to three NCAA West Regional appearances. In 2003, UTEP, finished one stroke shy of qualifying for the NCAA Championships. He also coached a pair of All-Americans: Dan Swanson in 2003 and Chris Baryla in 2003 and 2004.
He was named the head men's golf coach at UC Riverside in October of 2015 and led the Highlanders to its second Big West Men's Golf Championship in his first season. Todd was named the 2016 Big West Conference Coach of the year after leading the team to another Big West conference title in 2016. He also coached Matt Lutz to an individual birth to the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Ore. that season.
Todd last competed on the professional level nearly 20 years ago at the Bell Canadian Open in September of 1999, he missed the cut. His student-athletes at UC Riverside encouraged him to play in a qualifier and one will be on the bag for him at the championship.
