Ryan Armour

Attended Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Played high school basketball. Armour attended Ohio State University. He earned third-team All-American honors in 1998 and was selected to the All-Big Ten squad in 1995 and 1998. He also made it to the 1993 U.S. Junior finals.
Armour played on the Web.com Tour from 2004 to 2006. He also played on the NGA Hooters Tour in 2002 and 2003 and the Golden Bear Tour in 2003.
Armour earned his card for the 2007 PGA Tour season by finishing T-13th at Q-School in 2006. He was able to keep his PGA Tour for 2008 when he was 128th in the FedExCup race. But he lost his card the next year finishing 158th in the FedExCup race.
Returned to the Web.Com Tour and played on that tour again from 2009 through 2012. In 2012, he managed to make only four cuts in 26 total starts and did not have another top-25 finish during the season losing his Web.Com Tour card.
He didn't play on either the PGA Tour or Web.com Tour in 2013. At the end of the year finished T-26th at the Web.com Tour qualifying getting his card back for 2014.
2014 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 24; Rounds Played - 75; in money - 14; top -10 Finishes - 5; Scoring Average - 70.20 (rank 40th); Season money $180,856 (rank 20th), finals money $2,360 (ranked 119th), Priority rank (40th); Best finish:T-2nd United Leasing Championship. Officially secured his 2014-15 PGA Tour card (20th on the money list), setting up his return to the PGA Tour, where he was a member in 2007 and 2008.
2015 Notes: His third season on the PGA Tour was frustrating as in 17 starts only made the cut in 6 events and finished 195th on the FedExCup standings. Was able to save his Web.Com Tour card for 2016 when he finished 50th in the finals money race.
2016 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 22; Rounds Played - 68; in money - 12; top -10 Finishes - 3; Scoring Average - 69.76 (rank 26th); Season money $200,629 (rank 12th), Priority rank (32nd); Best finish: Won the Panama Claro Championship. Secured his PGA Tour card for the 2016-17 season with a 12th-place finish on the 2016 Web.com Tour Regular Season money list following the WinCo Foods Portland Open.
Web.Com Tour career: Has played in 241 Web.Com Tour events making 121 cuts. Has been in the top=ten, 28 times with his 2016 Panama Claro victory and five runner-up finishes. In his career has won $1,341,601 on the Web.Com.
2017 Notes: Made 20 starts on the PGA Tour with a T-4th at the Wyndham Championship, the final event of the regular season, his lone top-10. After failing to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs after finishing 159th, competed in three of the Web.com Tour Finals. Was 11th in the final priority-ranking order. Secured his PGA Tour card for the 2017-18 season with a fifth-place finish on the 2017 Web.com Tour Finals money list. What sealed that finish and a return to the PGA Tour was a runner-up finish at the Web.com Tour's Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship at his alma mater of Ohio State University Golf Club.
2018 Notes: Played in 32 PGA Tour events making 22 cuts with three top-ten finishes. In his 2nd start of the year was the only player to shot 4 rounds in the 60s to win the Sanderson Farms Championship. He did it winning by 5 shots. Earned first runner-up finish on the PGA Tour with a 2nd place finish at the Quicken Loans National. Held a share of the 36-hole lead, but Francesco Molinari shot 65-62 over the weekend leaving Armour 8 shots back. But he did earn a place in the Open Championship which will be his first major championship start. Missed the cut at Carnoustie and also missed the cut at the PGA Championship. Was T-8th at the Wyndham Championship. Played in three FedExCup Playoff events and was 49th in the FedExCup standings, his best career finish.
2019 Notes: T-6th at the Valspar Championship, finished 3 shots back of winner Paul Casey.
