Ryan Stachler

Prior to enrolling at the University of South Carolina, where Stachler just finished his freshman year, he finished 2nd at the 2013 Georgia State Junior and won the 2013 Joe Cheves Junior Invitational Tournament. While competing in high school, he earned medalist honors in three tournaments, and led Milton High School to the 2012 Class AAAAA GHSA State Title. He was also a two-time All-State selection. In 2014, he qualified as the 2nd alternate for the U.S. Junior Amateur.
At South Carolina, Stachler experienced a slow freshman year in which he only played in four tournaments, and just twice in the Gamecocks lineup, making his U.S. Open qualifying run all the more special. Academics are important to him, a reason why he chose South Carolina, and earned a 4.0 GPA his freshman year.
He comes from a family of collegiate athletes. His father, Bill, played soccer at Radford, and his grandfather, Roger, played basketball at the University of Miami.
