Ryo Hisatsune

He began playing golf at the age of three when his dad began taking him to the driving range. Growing up, his sporting idols were fellow Japanese golfers Ryo Ishikawa and Hideki Matsuyama.
After a brief amateur career in Japan, Hisatsune turned professional in December 2020 at the age of 18.
The following year, on the Japan Challenge Tour, he secured three wins in just over four months. He went on to claim the money list title and earned his place on the Japan Golf Tour.
2022 Notes: He played in 17 Japan PGA Tour events, making 13 cuts and six top-ten finishes. His best finish was T-2nd at the ASO IIZUKA Challenged Golf Tournament. He shot a final round 61 to finish one shot back of winner Tomoyo Ikemura. He finished 23rd on the money list with earnings of yen37,085,872 ($258,595).
2023 Notes: In November, 2022 he got his DP World Tour card after finishing T-7th at Q-School. Shortly afteward made his first DP World Tour start, finishing T-2nd at the Australian PGA Championship, three shots behind eventual winner Cameron Smith. In September 2023, Hisatsune claimed his first win on the European Tour, winning the Cazoo Open de France at Le Golf National. He shot a final-round 66 to win by two shots ahead of Jordan Smith and Jeff Winther. He became the first Japanese player to win in Continental Europe in more than 40 years. In November, he was voted as the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year for the 2023 European Tour season. For the DP World season Hisatsune played in 27 events making 20 cuts with eight top ten finishes. He was 17th in the race to Dubai with earnings of Euro1,416,758 (1,554,144). Having finished 17th in the 2023 Race to Dubai Rankings, he gained membership to the PGA Tour for the 2024 season. Played in four PGA Tour events, was T-12th at the Zozo Championship (played in 2022), T-10th at the Barracuda Championship and T-6th again at the Zozo Championship played at the end of the 2023 season.
2024 Notes: Made his first PGA Tour start finishing T-30th at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Next week was T-11th a thte American Express, his best finish of the year.
