Scott Hend

Hend turned professional in 1997 and joined the PGA Tour of Australasia. He has since played on most of the major golf tours around the world. He has won three times in Australia, and was the inaugural winner of the Von Nida Tour Order of Merit in 2003. He has also won on the Canadian Tour, at the 2002 Victoria Open.
Hend played on the United States based PGA Tour in 2004 and 2005, having gained his card at qualifying school for both seasons. He played a total of 67 events making 25 cuts and he earned a career total of $976,672. His best finish was 3rd at the 2004 BellSouth Classic. That good finished helped him finish 136th on the money list. Played in 2005 on the PGA Tour but finished 170th and he finished T-42nd at Q-School which forced him onto the Web.Com Tour. He played in 19 events and finished 151st on the money list. His Web.Com Tour totals, 34 events played and only had three top-25 finishes, the best was T-12th at the 2003 Alberta Calgary Classic.
Was a state representative at indoor cricket in his native Australia. Won tournament in Canada four days after being married with bride Leanne serving as his caddie on their honeymoon.
Celebrated the birth of twin babies in December 2006 and named them Aston and McLaren. According to Scott, it was pure coincidence that they were named after fast cars. A serious hand injury suffered in 2006 curtailed his career in the United States and he subsequently switched his focus to Asia and earned his Asian Tour card at Qualifying School in Thailand by finishing second in December, 2006.
In 2007 he came out strong on the Asian Tour with a runner-up finish at the season-opening Pakistan Open and then enjoyed a glorious run in April where he finished tied second and equal third in successive weeks at the co-sanctioned Volvo China Open and BMW Asian Open. Was later named Rookie of the Year.
He celebrated his first victory in 2008 when he won the Pertamina Indonesia President Invitational. He overcame a five-shot deficit in the final round and triumphed by three shots after closing with a superb 66.
In 2009, the Hend finished T-3rd in the lucrative Barclays Singapore Open, he played in 17 events on the Asian Tour and was 4th on the order of merit.
Hend slumped the next three years, finishing 22nd, 28th and 13th on the order of merit between 2010 and 2012. In 2012, he claimed his second Asian Tour title by winning the Handa Singapore Classic by one-shot in the weather-shortened tournament.
2013 Notes: Hend overcame a six-shot deficit to win the inaugural Chiangmai Golf Classic presented by three shots. He went on to win the Mercuries Taiwan Masters and cruised to victory at the Venetian Macau Open where he defeated Ernie Els of South Africa. The treble of victories led Hend to finish second on the Order of Merit.
2014 Notes: He won his sixth Asian Tour title by defeating Angelo Que on the first play-off hole in the Hong Kong Open. It was his first victory in a co-sanctioned event with the European Tour at the age of 41. With that win has been playing more on the Euroepan Tour in 2015.
2015 Notes: Played a total of 34 events on the Asian and European Tour. His big win came on the Asian Tour as he won the Venetian Macao Open. The win along with a 2nd place finish at the Thailand Classic help him finish 2nd on the Asian Tour order of merit. On the European Tour played a total of 29 events (some were co-sanctioned with Asian Tour) and made 17 cuts. He had 3 top-10s, his best finish was also the T-2nd at Thailand Classic and he finished 62nd in the Race to Dubai.
2016 Notes: Has won twice, on both the Asian and European Tours the True Thailand Classic and on the Asian Tour the Queen's Cup. On the European Tour has played in 28 events making 20 cuts. Was in the top-ten, 6 times. Was runner-up at the European Masters He was 27th in the Race to Dubai with $1,266,766. Ended the year finishing T-10th at the Australian Masters.
2017 Notes: Was T-6th in the Thailand Open. Was T-7th at the CIMB CLassic. Was T-10th at the WGC-Bridgestone.
