Shiho Oyama

Started playing golf at the age of nine. Credits Takako Kiyomoto and Chris Walkey as the individuals that most influence her career. Enjoys listening to music, reading books and shopping. Qualified for the Tour on her first attempt. As an amateur, Oyama won the 1994 Japan Women's Amateur, the Japan Women's Amateur Match Play in 1997 and 1999 and the Japan Women's College Championship in 1999. Won 20 other titles.
In 2008, won her 12th international event on the LPGA of Japan (JLPGA) at the Masters GC Ladies; T-4th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Priority List Category 11 for the 2009 LPGA season.
In 2001-07, competed on the JLPGA with 11 victories, including five in 2006 when she led the JLPGA Money List.
For the first time in six years, Yuri Fudo was not the top women's golfer in Japan, Oyama claimed the title by finishing 66 million yen ahead of her nearest rival, Mijeong Jeon of South Korea. Sakura Yokomine was third, while Fudo fell to 14th. Oyama was also player of the year in 2006, winning three times including the Fujisankei Ladies, the Salonpas World Ladies and the Crystal Gayser Ladies. She has a total of nine victories in Japan.
In 2007 won the Nichirei PGM Ladies, her first victory since the Yonex Ladies Open. The previous week she was 2nd in the Suntory Ladies.
2009 Notes: Best finish was 6th at Michelob Ultra Open.
2011 Notes: Best finish was 40th at Mizuno Classic.
2013 JLPGA Notes: Won the Tour Championship Ricoh Cup. Five top-5 finishes.
2014 JLPGA Notes: Won the Nobuta Group Ladies Masters with all 4 rounds in the 60s. 11 top-10 finishes.
2015 JLPGA Notes: Best finish: 2nd, three times.
2016 JLPGA Notes: Won the Fujisankei Ladies Classic and has three top 20s in seven events.
LPGA Notes: Finished T-36th at the ANA Inspiration and T-57th at the Honda LPGA Thailand in 2016. Finished T-5th at the 2015 U.S. Women?s Open, earning $141,396, T-22nd at the TOTO Japan Classic and missed the cut at the RICOH Women?s British Open. In 2014, missed the cut at the RICOH Women?s British Open and finished T-64th at the Mizuno Classic. Finished T-5th at 2013 Mizuno Classic. Made the cut at three of four events in 2011. Finished 6th at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill, and made the cut at seven events in 2009.
