Shintaro Kai

After winning the most of the major amateur titles in Japan such as 1999 Kyusyu-prefecture amateur Championship, '01, '02 Kanto Amateur Championship, 2003 Japan Amateur Championship, 2003 Japan Student Championship, Kai became pro in Jan 31, 2004.
Kai finished 20th in 2007 Qualifying tournament and has since come into his own in 2008 with his second top-ten career finish in Japan, a runner-up at the Pine Valley Beijing Open. Along with his runner-up finish in Mitsubishi Diamond Cup was able to finish in the top-two of the Japan money list between the 2008 Japan PGA Championship and the Mizuno Open and qualify to play in the Open Championship, his first major ever.
