Stephen Sear

Sear picked up the game of golf with his brother, Mark, when their family moved from Northern California to Southern California at the age of 10. He played his collegiate golf at the University of Southern California, where he was named to the All-PAC-10 Second Team in 1987.
He began working as a master instructor at the Jim McClain Golf School in 1996. Sear won the Northern California Amateur in 1998 and posted a top-10 finish at the Buick Invitational in 2000. He played on the Teardrop Tour, where he was named the Player of the Year and won the tour championship in 1999.
He advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2007 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, where he fell to Trip Kuehne in 20 holes. Also in 2007, Sear won the Northern Nevada Amateur.
He captured back-to-back Nevada State Amateur Championships in 2015 and 2016 while finishing 3rd in 2017.
For the past 10 years, Sear has worked at Morgan Stanley in Reno, Nev. as a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager, Financial Advisor.
