Takeshi Sakiyama

Joined the Japan Golf Tour in 1998. While he has not won on that tour, he did finish T-9th in the 1998 Token Corporation Cup. His best year on Tour was in 1998 when in 26 starts he was in the money 17 times with six top-25 finishes. He won ￥12,550,278 ($105,396) and was 85th on the money list.
Prior to turning 50, Sakiyama was ranked 85th in the 1998 season and the Japan PGA Tour. In his first appearance on the Japan Senior Tour, he captured the Kanehide Senior Championship. Before the event, he finished No. 2 in the final senior qualifying tournament to earn a Tour card. Winner of four 2015 events: Kyoraku Senior, Taiheyo Senior, Alfa Club Cup and Komatsu Open. This season, successfully defended his title in the Kyoraku Cup.
In 2016, Sakiyama made the cut in the Senior PGA Championship, finishing T-51st and the Senior Open Championship conducted by The R&A, finishing 69th.
Sakiyama won four times in 2015: the Kyoraku Senior, Maruhancup Taiheiyo Club, Alfa Club CUp Senior Open and Komatsu Open. He was 2nd in the Japan Senior Tour order of Merit.
Sakiyama won twice in 2016: the Kyoraku Senior and The 17th Starts Senior Golf Tournament, was second in the order of merit.
Overall, he has won seven senior titles on the Japan Senior Tour after being in relative obscurity as a younger player on the regular Japan Golf Tour..
