Thomas Levet

Son of a Parisian doctor and born into a true sporting family. His father was a first class hockey and tennis player, his mother played First Division volleyball in France and his grandfather was a professional cyclist. Won his sixth European Tour title at the 2011 Alstom Open de France, but the joy of victory was tempered by the fact he broke his leg jumping into a greenside lake in celebration. Missed two months of golf - and The 140th Open Championship but still finished 45th in The Race to Dubai. Holds the record for most European Tour victories by a Frenchman. Captured his fifth win in the 2009 Open de Espana, a victory he dedicated to Spain's most famous golfer, Seve Ballesteros. The win helped him to a 28th place finish in The Race to Dubai, his highest since 2004 and continued his resurgence from 2008 when he won the MAPFRE Open de Andalucia by Valle Romano. In 2002, came agonizingly close to becoming the first Frenchman to win The Open Championship since Arnaud Massy in 1907. Shot 66 in the final round at Muirfield to tie with Stuart Appleby, Steve Elkington, and Ernie Els. After again tying with Els in the initial four-hole play-off, he lost to the South African in sudden-death. Made his Ryder Cup debut in 2004. Became the first Frenchman to play on the US PGA Tour in 1994. Won the 1998 Cannes Open, becoming the first winner on home soil since Jean Garaialde took the French Open in 1969. In his career on the European Tour, he played in 562 events making 293 cuts with 43 top-ten finishes. In his career won euro7.911,017. On turning 50 in September of 2018 made his senior debut at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters finishing T-44th. Went to PGA Tour Champions Q-School but withdraw.
2019 Notes: Only played three times in 2019 finishing T-74th at the Senior PGA Championship, missing the cut at the U.S. Senior Open, and T-10th at the Senior Open Championship. He went into two stages of qualifying, finished T-5th at the 1st stage and T-52nd at the Final Stage of the PGA Tour Champions qualifying tournament. On the European Legends Tour played in nine events and had three top-ten finishes. He won for the first time on the Legends tour at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters, T-7th at the Druh Belts. Finished 25th on the on the Order of Merit winning euro106,774.
2020/21 Notes: Played in nine events on the European Legends Tour winning twice and finishing 2nd once. Was 2nd on the Order of Merit with euro130,560. Won at the 2021 Scottish Senior Open beating Markus Brier with a par on the first extra hole. Won the 2021 Legends Open de France by three shots over David Morland. Was a shot back of winner Paul Broahurst at the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship.
2022 Notes: On the European Legends event was T-24th at the Riegler & Partner Legends.
