Tom Werkmeister

Tom Werkmeister was born in Detroit, Michigan and played collegiate golf at Macomb Community College where he was an All-American. He has dominated the Michigan amateur golf scene for the past decade, being named to the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame at the age of 46, the youngest to ever do so.
Werkmeister has been named the Golf Association of Michigan Player two consecutive years, 2016 and 2017, and six times overall. He is a Golf Association of Michigan Mid-Amateur winner and a two-time Michigan Amateur Champion (2009, 2017). In 2016, he was a co-medalist as a member of Team Michigan competing at the USGA State Team Championship and he captured the title at the Golf Association of Michigan Championship.
After turning professional at the end of 2017, Werkmeister finished T-23rd at the PGA Tour Champions Q-School in Scottsdale, Arizona. This secured him associate member status on the PGA Tour Champions for 2018, allowing him automatic entry into all Monday qualifier events on the tour.
He advanced to the semifinals in the 2014 U.S. Mid-Amateur before losing to Brad Nurski in 19 holes. Werkmeister also made it to the Round of 16 at the 2016 U.S. Mid-Amateur, losing to Dan Sullivan, 3 and 1.
2018 Notes: Played in 4 PGA Tour Champions events, best finish T-38th at the Shaw Charity Classic. At the end of the year went to Q-School for the PGA Tour Champions but was T-18th, which will get him some conditional status.
2019 Notes: Was T-62nd at the Principal Charity Classic.
