Stepped down in 1999 after 25 years as head professional at Royal Jersey Golf Club in Grouville, Jersey, England. Winner of 23 PGA European Senior Tour events, including three in 1998 and '99. . First to win over a million pounds on the European Senior Tour. In 1999 in 16 starts finished in the top-ten, six times and won twice at the Beko Classic and the Monte Carlo Invitational. Recorded eight top-10 performances in 1998 , winning four events that included The Belfry PGA Seniors Championship. . .Won the 1997 Beiko Turkish Seniors, AIB Irish Seniors Open, Jersey Seniors Open, Scottish Seniors Open, Clubhaus Seniors Classic and Player Championship. Other PGA European Seniors Tour victories include: 1992 Forte PGA Seniors, 1993 Shell Scottish Seniors Open, Collintree Seniors, Senior Zurich, Pro-am, Lexus Trophy, 1994 St. Pierre Senior Classic, Belfast Telegraph Irish Seniors Open; 1995 DeVere Hotels Seniors Classic, 1996 Castle Royale European Seniors Classic, Stella Senior Open, Northern Electric Seniors, The Player Championship. . . As a member of the PGA European Tour include: 1968 H.I.V. International Open, 1969 Tyneside Festival, 1970 PGA Match Play Championship, 1971 Gallaher Ulster Open, 1972 Piccadilly Medal, 1976 Uniroyal International, 1978 Dunlop Masters. . . Other worldwide victories include the 1973 Nigerian Open, 1975 Gambian Open, 1977 Zambia Open and 1985 Togo Open. . .In 1970, became the first Briton to win the South African Open. . .Member of 1975, '77 Great Britain-Ireland Ryder Cup Teams. . .Was non-playing captain for the Great Britain-Ireland team in the 1978 PGA Cup Matches. . . .Chairman of the PGA European Seniors Tour Committee and serves as a radio commentator at many events. . .A fitness enthusiast, and owner of Tommy Horton Golf Limited, a golf course design firm that has produced such courses as Windlesham, Surrey and two layouts in Belgium.
