Tyler Light

At a young age he knew what he wanted to do with his life, become a professional golfer. Graduated from Malone University, in Canton, Ohio, in 2014, majoring Business Administration with a minor in Mathematics and Finance. Turned professional immediately after graduation and moved to Myrtle Beach. While there earned full status on PGA Tour Canada for 2015. He made just 3 cuts in 11 events that season; his best finish was T-20th at the National Capital Open.
2016 Notes: Moved back to Ohio for the winter, worked at a sawmill to try and raise money for the upcoming season before moving to Texas and living with a family that he knew. Practiced and worked at Lantana Golf Club in Argyle, earning full status on PGA Tour Canada for the 2016 season. Played in the first 4 events only making one cut, a T-50th at the Seed 5 Financial Open.
2017 Notes: Moved back to Ohio and approached Mike Emery at Canton Brookside Country Club for some help. The two decided to rebuild his swing and forego a full schedule on PGA Tour Canada. A lot of personal growth took place during this time period. Stayed in Ohio during the winter, working regularly with Emery. Worked late shifts at the UPS distribution center from November to April to raise funds for the upcoming season. Also added a mental coach, Devon McDonald, president/CEO of Sportsworld. He has helped mentor Light and helped him tremendously. Because of this he able to enjoy life and golf again. Mike and Tyler continue to work together on the game, both mentally and physically. Won a playoff at the Springfield, Ohio, qualifier for first-alternate status and will get to play in the U.S. Open.
