Vance Antoniou

Shot 69 at the North Barrington, Ill., sectional to qualify for the 2011 U.S. Senior Open. Shot 32 on the outward nine and closed with a birdie to solidify his place in the field.
Has played in four U.S. Mid-Amateurs (1997, 2004, 2007, 2010), but has never advanced to the match play round. Has been an alternate at more than 10 USGA championships other than the Mid-Amateur, but has never made it into the field. Finished fifth at the 2010 Illinois State Mid-Amateur at White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville, Ill. Finished 30th at the 2010 Illinois State Amateur. Was runner-up at the 2005 CDGA Tournament of Champions, where he lost in a three-hole playoff.
Is a real estate developer with Anvan in Illinois. Plays golf right-handed, but can hit shots well left-handed. Helped build several golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Gary Player and has interacted and played golf with all of them. Has holed out a full shot every year for at least 32 years, including six holes-in-one. Founder of the Hawks Soccer Club, which now has over 40 teams. Never uses the same ball marker for two straight rounds and collects his old markers in a container made by his daughter when she was young. Enjoys fishing, spending time with good friends and being with his kids. Has two sons and one daughter.
